Life Debt

Dear Friend,
I have been informed of all that you have done to assist myself and Ian during this trying time, and find that you have been instrumental in my newfound mortality. As with most experiences, I have found it to have its triumphs and tribulations; for example, I had forgotten the sensations of hunger, pain, and cold, and I find that I could do without them.
Despite these pitfalls, I must still express my deepest gratitude, for even unpleasant experiences are only one side of a coin. Hunger brings with it the pleasure of eating, the enjoyment of the artistry of the culinary experience. Cold may chill me to the bone, but I can now experience the joy of an evening spent by the fireside, holding a loved one, and that is worth more than can be told.
I hope these gifts find you well, and that you have been enjoying the Morostide season. It will be my great pleasure to see you during other seasons.
Be well,
Lord Jaxon Skelly

Yay! :D
Thank you so much for this plot! I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I hope we get to see a bit more of Ian and Jaxon in the future.

There's a typo: Wulrm Beanbag vs. Wurlm challenger (I noticed because it is similar to the German word Wurm meaning worm and it was totally stressing me out trying to say Wurlm XD)…
There are some lovely items though, eg.
and lots for my Jaxon gallery!

Aww I'm sad I missed out on so many points from having to skip the puzzles that I just couldn't do. :( But thank you staff for all the wonderful items. I just had to pick and choose rather than being able to get everything. I love the wearables and plushies. <3 Will the shop be kept around like other event shops, so that if you didn't spend all your points, you can spend them at a future date?

@Rah... maybe just don't do those gauge puzzles again.
A lot of people with disabilities (like me) weren't skipping them because of the strobe effect, but rather because our disabilities and/or the medicines we take to manage our disabilities made it physically impossible to do them at the speed that they required--particularly since failing one level meant going back to the very first level. I might've been able to finally do them if I hadn't been so worn out by having to repeat all the levels over and over every time I flubbed the harder ones--it absolutely sapped my energy.
All of the other puzzles were pretty doable, and most of them were actually pretty fun.

Honestly my favorite items are the Ruby Widow items... the spider, sticker, and the two associated wearable. ♥♥

And also this because floating eyeballs are always hecka rad and super welcome in my books haha!

I am SUPER PLEASED that none of the items are multi-use (considering max points only gives you enough to buy 1 of each item) but at the same time I'm super disappointed that
isn't also a minion ;-;

"Maybe since he loved the dark magics, you could stick a few pins in him?"
I want to. I want to do that and more. :/
Really though? Really and truly? Thank you, staff. ♥️♥️♥️
Throughout the plot, I was absolutely dreading having to kill the Dungarde when it inevitably "turned evil" for not wanting to be a slave bound to long dead ideals.
Due to irl issues, I had to kind of rush the plot. Went from feelings of "OK! Let's see what's going on this year!" to "Oh geez, is this going to be the day?" for every new section that I moved on to. :p
&
It did not happen. And, I'm still pretty surprised that it didn't. Of course, I suppose that it's not fully unbound yet, so maybe that'll happen... how long do people like Jaxon live? 50~100 years from now? ha. But, really, no, it's not going to & that is great. This is the first time, in a long time, that I've read something that did not fall into that trap. I am grateful for the way that the story unfolded and will hold out hope that we might get to do something else for the Dungarde in the future. Bring it other items or books? Wonder if it'd like a name of some kind, instead of just being called by what it currently is? hm.
Anyway, as for something less painfully self-indulgent and, perhaps, a little more relatable:

Got all 200 points, bought all the wears and a minion and still have 95 points left. Hopefully we can hang on to the extra for a while? I'll want to sell things from the shop with my extra points but wouldn't know what to buy until later.

Squishes and hugs my new little Dungarde Buddy I love him so much omg thank you TTwTT
I have an extra 50 points from the prize shop; feel free to send me an sMail if you want me to grab anything for you. :)

ok buddy...Darkest Blood Magick has been read to Alfy!
Alfy says, "I need to write fanfiction on this RIGHT NOW."

Ooh, I love the items! Thank you so much for these, for the entertaining plot, and most of all for the wonderful, long-awaited happy outcome for a couple of my favorite NPCs! :)
(I look forward to seeing more of the Dungarde too...I hope there will be some way to continue to visit and bring them more things to make their wait more bearable.)

Also, thank you so much for the new plot wearables! I made myself a Skelly-themed HA with them!

I got 190 points, is that the whole amount for doing all the puzzles/plot? I did the whole plot and puzzles.

you're welcome, ian and jaxon. may your lives be filled with happiness and joy, and i am glad i was able to be a part of it. enjoy it, jaxon. there are some things that are annoying, but you did it all for ian (who is also annoying sometimes)
i hope your journey to re-live and be with your love is smooth and gentle, you both deserve it.

Is it weird that I wanted Jaxon to be mad at us for letting Ian get hurt. I still feel bad and I had no say in it XD

This was an amazing plot and all the puzzles were actually fun to do (I especially loved the pipe puzzles). I really enjoy the types of puzzles that do not involve very fast moving or strobe-like devices... mainly because I am legally blind and it can be a literal pain to get through it as well as someone with much better eyesight can. I persevered though and managed (mainly by pure luck) to get the full 200 points (yay)! Those dial puzzles took me nearly a full day to attempt, and I wound up with a migraine... but I opted for this and am happy to do it lol! Can't wait to see how things progress from here! Thanks again for the fun!
On another note, maybe some of the puzzles were a wee bit tough without help, but for some they were doable with a reference since they had tricks to them online (chinese checkers, slide puzzle). And thankfully they weren't randomized so forums could also help. But I always like to see more puzzles/games tied to events and seeing how the staff handles it without flash. I only really disliked the pipe puzzle because one mistake would send you back to the very beginning.
I see there were a lot of concerns about the dial puzzle, since that one is pretty tricky even without a disability and lag. Perhaps if there was some sort of alternative puzzle for ones that require quick movement/reaction time? That would require a lot more work though... Otherwise, I can only imagine cutting out those kind of really fast puzzles altogether. ponders
I'm pretty happy with the written part of the plot, it's always nice to see Ian and get to know Jaxon a little bit more. I also came to care about the guardian as well, making the final choice not as easy as it should have been.

It was an honour to assist you and Ian, Lord Skelly. Should either of you have need of assistance in the future, please do not hesitate to ask. May the upcoming winter holidays be joyful ones. bows
Thank you for the wonderful plot, Staff! It made my black little heart all warm and fuzzy finally seeing these two together ♥️ I can only hope we get to sneak a peek at Jaxon and Ian's first Luminaire and Snowflaik wreaking havoc with their Lumineve tree.

"Just hurry up about it, I'd like to get back to what I was doing."
I'll quickly take my prizes and go so you can get back to doing Ian- I mean, what?
Nah, but honestly, I'm really happy these two salty nerds get their happy ending. I get fuzzies in my chest thinking that they can FINALLY celebrate other holidays together for the first time. It was like a long distance relationship, except spooky and with really crappy internet connection most of the year. Every Morostide since the peril at the patch event, I would sit with bated breath hoping for their next attempt to bring Jaxon over. I'm so happy.

These are so cool! Thanks for a great plot.
(I had the full points for everything but did a dumb and bought a plushie twice. Don't be like me, kids!)

Thanks for an awesome plot and gorgeous prizes! ^_^ I really enjoyed this one. A text-heavy plot is A+ in my book. :D

With the correction, I received 190 plot points. I thought I had done everything. Is there a way to find out what I missed doing for the missing 10 points? The event was a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who helped make it such a good event!

Thought my 180 was enough for everything and ended up short and can't get one of the plushies now. GDI. >.< I did everything? I'm not sure why I didn't get full points :(

@Isilven - We implemented the plot without knowing any of our steps would create specific problems. After it was requested, we put a warning on the second gauge puzzle as that was simple to implement. Many users skipped steps for many reasons - and we cannot verify if any user skips a step due to a disability or not. I cannot think of a way to make it so that only people with disabilities are allowed to skip the step but still receive plot points.
I would legitimately be interested in a solution to this problem. What we did do is make the gauges worth fewer points than the other puzzles, so that if that had to be skipped, it would not lose as many potential points. I'd be happy to listen to suggestions on how to improve this for future plots - where we sometimes can't predict which of our games will trigger a certain disability.

I really enjoyed the plot. I would like to point out that I have a text disability and although this was text-heavy, I still enjoyed it. I realize some were unable to complete all the puzzles (for a variety of reasons); however, I appreciate that just by participating we obtained points. Furthermore, even with my disabilities, I managed to complete all the puzzles & get 200 points, yay ^^ Now it's a matter of figuring out what to spend it on :D
I would also like to make a special request...

I would LOVE to see more of these types of items with different arm movements and incorporating the base colour, well thought out!

Imagine how special this was for them? It makes my heart soft! I'm glad this was included as a prize!
I was expecting at least some couple-related items, but I guess that, since they're together all year, maybe we can see a glimpse of their life during other times of the year? Hopefully so!
Either way, I'm so happy they're finally going to be together all year long <3

OK seriously? It's been all day. Not a SINGLE staff member can address me or the 14 other people wondering why y'all would include a content warning for disabled players and still deduct 10 points from us LITERALLY BEING UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE PUZZLE?

Lovely prizes....thank you, but between the site lag and not being able to open purchases in a new tab without getting an error message, I'm reluctant to deal with spending my points currently. Hopefully the site is back to working decent again soon.

Loved the plot and love the prizes... is there a list of the breakdown of what each step was worth in points?

This was a great plot and I'm sorry I missed so many days.
I got everything I wanted except for the ring, I'll have to look for it later.
Thanks, Subeta, I really enjoyed this one! <3
