Friendly Battles are back!
So a while back there was all this hype about the Legendary Beasts of Subeta, and everyone got to go out and find them and it looked hella fun. Some of them, though, looked an awful lot like the pets we have today. Were they really legendary beasts? Or were they legendary PETS?
Most of the pets on Subeta came from the wild originally. The ones that didn't can't all have been controlled enough not to escape to it, right? There has to be some wild versions of pets out there, some that are mighty enough to remain undetected for all this time. I want to find them and document them, maybe even bring home a little souvenir.
So whaddya think? Up for the challenge with me? Hmm, now where to start. I think I have a lead...

I was expecting him to say something after you beat him but nothing happens? Do you have to do something else after you beat him? (I have beat him 10 times to see if anything happens but nope). I also visit peka again but nothing happens.
PLEASE let there be eventual Pylot pets. I really hope this is my time to shine and get one

I'm fine with there not being plots for the first half of this year (even though I would like to see a Survival plot this year), mainly because if there's a Masquerade plot this year I might be too busy for it (there will probably be some extra time after the event ends for me to finish it but still).
And yes, these ancient pets probably will be this year's Cash Shop challengers. I don't even buy the challengers (sometimes I buy the items to wear), but I still find the lore about them interesting, and there are still other ways to get CSC for them.
This is kind of a plot in a way, not a traditional plot but still a sort of ongoing story that's completely optional and the only prizes are the loot items.
I'm stuggling to be patient about these things too, I'm also frustrated at times, especially with things being pushed back (like a certain thing to do with my country that I'll only believe when it happens). But if they did the server move later, then we'd all just be complaining about this later instead. I would have preferred if they did it in the summer when not much was going on instead of November, a time right before a load of site events are supposed to happen, but they probably had a good reason for that.

It's just more BQ people? Oh. Way to get our hopes up. Will probably have to pay to unlock the "ancient pet" challengers too. Bah. Of course Subeta would not be organized enough to pull off an interesting plot. Still waiting on Free Shop, old Morostide stuff going out somehow, 
, story contest, Snowapult . . . Goddamn is this site disappointing. After trying to get into my (non-legacy) shop after clicking 20 times and getting 502 errors, Imma surf over to Flight Rising and enjoy the Ancient Breeds plot done right.
So I know this is just NPC challenger/CS challenger/rinse/repeat... and my hopes of it being anything more are about 0.5/10...
But I'm just saying, for the record, I wouldn't be able to buy a challenger fast enough if the loot drop was an elixir to turn a pet into a specific legendary pet q___q

On the one hand, yay for new challengers! On the other hand, I was hoping for a return of old challengers appearing again like we had a few years ago.

Wow Blake is really easy. It will take a little time but I think just about all my pets can beat him. Thanks for the pretty backdrop.
Could this be a slowly evolving mystery perhaps? :eyes: I'm down with that. LOVE the new adventury loot items!
It seems to have worked now. Blake is among my challengers, I never got an event, though.

All you wanting this to be more than a new battle challenger are living in fairyland. How about all the regular stuff that isn't going on at the moment (snowtapult, training alerts, dashboard ranking etc) before we worry about new plot possibilities? Never mind that we are still waiting for the tea shop and whatever all that stuff that was promised back then to be added.

Alright, now I see what Amber meant by "Maybe it's Blake all year". Then again, if that iss the case, that means the secret challengers page will be cluttered with lots of different Blakes. Again, I guess we won't truly know until next month.
So far I think that these pets will be this year's Cash Shop challengers, and if we're still doing Friendly Challengers, then maybe those NPCs are all joining in with this. I wonder which ones would be interested...

@pointycatears I would die if Jack Cardale was a challenger, I mean, I'd hate to lay the smackdown on my favorite NPC, but on the other hand maybe we could show Gunther his brother is still... er... not alive, exactly, but undead? And free him?
The title says friendly battles though. Maybe if the story is other characters joining in with this? And then the creatures are for the cash shop?
Anyone think the items dropped might be important later on? They wouldn't be that 'mean' would they?

@its_Just_Me :) We already said that the storytelling contest will be happening at a different holiday. And we said the Free Shop would likely be this month. ;)
