New Hair Layer!!!!

Thank goodness I don't have to try to find all my wigs again, lol. My drawers imploded on me a while back and I've been slowly updating them I was dreading the wigs, I have so many!
Not something I needed since I had all my hair in drawers sorted by color, but this is good for those who do need it. :)
Personally this doesn't make a difference to me, always saw the hair as being part of the Head section, but good for those who wanted it

(posting here in case others have the same problem described below by @ForsakenLykaios!)
try going back to page 1 of the layer you're on before changing the layers, or doing a search, or changing any of the filters. When you change layers it doesn't automatically take you back to page 1, it's still on the last page you were viewing. Eg: you're on page 13 of your swishy new hair layer then switch your filters to the ankle layer, and see no items! (Or page numbers) that's because it's trying to show you page 13 of the ankle layer, and of course there are waaay less items in the ankle layer, there may only be 5 pages of items. Solution: If you switch back to the hair layer (or whichever filter setting you were on before - you'll still be on page 13, and items and page buttons should be there again!), then go back to page 1, then go to your ankle layer, which will take you to page 1 of ankle layer, so there will be items there :)
I hope that makes sense and helps someone! Sorry for the novel lol ><
(I imagine the actual solution for that particular issue would be for the wardrobe to automatically revert to page 1 everytime the filters are altered, but that would be something for our busy staff to take care of <3 )

Thank you! I noticed this when changing up my HA last night, and I'm glad that the wigs and hair items have been separated from head and hair accessories. This was a very necessary separation, thank you for all your hard work making this happen!
I loved the idea and the final feat. I was shocked by the amount of page.

Thanks for the hard work, volunteers! I'm actually glad I didn't get picked because I have been /busy/ lately, heh. Loving that there's a dedicated spot for missing items and that there's talk of further layer re-evaluation!

I went into my wardrobe to check out the new layer and while going through the head layer, found one hair item in mine that didn't get moved to the new subcategory. Should I post the item name here or is there somewhere on the forums I could mention that?

I am still having a lot of issues wit it showing my items though.
went to "face" put item on.
went to "foreground" no items show up.
go to all>all owned. no items
go to all> all on site, all items on site show up.
click all owned. nothing .
but if i close wardrobe out go back in, i can select one layer and its back to showing i own nothing ... hoping it would fix once hair section was done. but nope, can't even go through everything . :(

I saw this earlier in my wardrobe, I automatically went to the head layer to find a wig and then realised the wigs weren't there...then I saw the hair layer, lol. I had forgotten that it was happening!

i don't remember the missing half of the post very well at all, but since ARA is inactive, it couldn't hurt to try and reconstruct it 🤔

@Cathii About 20,000 items, and our volunteers went through all that in less than a week! <3
I think it's awesome that people are thinking about wardrobe layers because of this, and how we can improve them further! We're now in a good position to start really considering those suggestions! However, I'd really love if we can focus on celebrating this achievement in the comments on this news post, and have those discussions in the Suggestions forum instead. Our volunteers worked really hard, so let's keep the spotlight on their amazing achievement. :)

@jensen Hey, this is a great opportunity to revisit those ideas. We didn't have great ways to implement such overhauls in the past, but now, with the new capabilities given to us by our newer code (Subeta v2!), it makes lots of things like this quite feasible now! Feel free to start a new suggestion thread and/or ping me on a bug report about the broken one (I was not aware of that thread or that it is broken, but depending on how old it is, we might need to start a new thread anyway, I'm not sure.) :)

Out of curiosity, is there a reason why hat and head layers are seperate?
Since wigs now have their own layers - and many people have misplaced these two layers - could it make sense to merge them together?

@jensen -- Check out SubetaLodge; we've implemented a number of tags for items on the face layer. For example,
this is a search for facial hair items only, and these are nose-changing items only.
We know it's not quite as convenient as having this information directly in the wardrobe, but we hope you'll get some use out of it.

@Dude I understand, it's not a great feeling. But if it helps - we got literally hundreds of applications (for real this community is awesome) so we had to not pick.. most of them. It doesn't mean yours sucked or anything, we just had limited positions to fill, so unfortunately we did have to turn down a lot of great applications just due to limited space.
However, this went so incredibly well, and our volunteers had a great time too - so it's likely we will be have more volunteer opportunities in the future... Keep an eye out <3

Cinnamon Ringlet and Hazel Heartstring Wig are still in the Head layer. If a designated place to post oversights like this is created, I will be happy to post that information there.

Suh-weet! Is there somewhere specific that we can note wigs that did not make it into the Hair layer?
This looks great! Only thing I noticed is that Maids Wig and Blob Kitty Fangirl Wig are still listed under "Head" for me. I understand they are wigs, but it's still hair?
I remember a few days back I had a small heart attack thinking I lost so many items... then I saw the hair layer... XD Yay glad it's live!
I was a little disappointed I wasn't picked to help but it's wonderful to see how quickly this was done
