Subeautique: Mor Deception
There will be no retirements at this time. There will be retirements after the next new line, though!

I think some of these items can for sure be useful on male HAs, I have made a couple examples real quick with a rustic and a more sophisticated style -

just want to make the point that I'm masc, and I would wear everything in this set IRL. clothes don't = gender, and I, as a nonbinary person, think it's important not to conflate the two. :)
that said, some more basic masculine/butch clothes (that aren't cws!) would be super cool, and I think historically Subeta has always had a leaning towards more "femme" clothes, which means people feel left out, which is never a great thing on a petsite that's so heavily geared towards avatars. I know there's a bunch of suggestion threads in the avatar suggestions subforum on this subject, saying much the same, and there have been for many years now.

Oh, this is such a nice set! Casual, but still very fashionable. I especially love the pants and flip-flops! And IMHO it doesn't seem particularly girly, outside of the makeup (unless you're in the camp of pink = for girls).

Oh maybe we can have some community polls for the next lines coming out? Let us all have a say? I'm fine with any set but I can see others leaning more towards a different style or feel. (Ugh English you're failing me right now for words)

@Valiska
I'm a cis woman myself, so while I think this set and Delish Bloom are very pretty, and I would probably wear a couple of things from the Vevi set IRL, I prefer having a masculine HA on site so I don't find any of the items useful for me. At most, I think maybe the cardi on this one is something I could probably pull into an outfit but I don't think I have a lot of pink that even matches that pink.
I think it was the broken promise and the lost potential that made me so angry about the Delish line. I would love some pants or a loose shirt in that purple. It's a very nice purple.

The only thing I really want is the cute pink cardi cause I don't own purples close to that shade... ;;;

@Avel I do cosplay avatars a lot and frequently dress up as male characters, although I'm obviously not doing that right now. So normally I buy both the "male" and "female" items in a set unless there are items in the set that I just don't like at all.
I adore Delish Bloom, but it is sooooooooooooo girly and they told us that they were going to stop doing double sets and merge the sets, so why are there no pants or flat shoes?
(Actually, I know plenty of cis women who don't wear heels, for that matter.)

Just echoing @Valiska's critique here, particularly about the recent Delish line. I wasn't even comfortable bringing up the lack of gender neutral items because everybody in the comments loved it so much. I was so excited with getting a new Delish line, but that didn't last long when I saw there are pants options. I shouldn't have to go to more expensive CWs items to get more masculine or even gender neutral items but it's what I find that I have to do more and more lately.

Oh I love all of these! Now I really wish that at least half of the old stuff in the Sube that I keep seeing over and over and over was gone and then maybe we could have real chances to get the newer stuff... :)

I like this a lot, and I liked the idea of Vevi Kit even if some of the pieces didn't suit me, but...
Are we just not making SubQ stuff for more-masculine-than-not avatars anymore?
It used to be that a set like this, or like Vevi Kit, would have enough different pieces that you could make a very feminine look, a masculine look, and an ungendered look with them.
My favourite designer is Royale, which is 100% lolita fashion, but still includes ouji looks for masculine avatars. (Ouji is one of the terms used for the masculine counterpart of lolita--it doesn't refer to the sex or gender of the wearer, but it involves looks with pants and boots and shirts and waistcoats/jackets that look really good on someone who's accompanying a lolita but wants a more masculine look.)
But even though Vevi Kit and this set feature a t-shirt and jeans as the central clothing pieces, they're both really feminine jeans (both sets have jeans with cutesy pink patches) and t-shirts (a cat print crop top and a heart print).
Plus, the "male" version of the Vevi Kit outfit doesn't have boobs, but still has highly estrogenated hips and thighs. AMAB and AFAB bodies generally carry their weight in different proportions and locations.
The same thing appears to be happening with the CS Boutique (Delish, Zoe, &c items). We were told starting with Delish Verid that instead of having matched masculine and feminine sets that there would be larger sets with items of each type but they have been getting more and more girly as well. Delish Deco and Onyx had nice pants even if you don't see them in the preview image, but Delish Bloom doesn't even pretend--there is no pants or shorts option and there is no flat shoe option.
I appreciate that sets like Delish Bloom and Vevi Kit are offering skin tone transformations, and I know that's a LOT of work for the artists...but people who don't ever make feminine avatars are getting left behind. Maybe we could have a dudely Vevi set?
