1. No subscriptions will process, and
2. We will likely see the ones that were supposed to process clear out like last time.
We have instituted a CAPTCHA in an attempt to stymy the fraud attempts to some degree. We are also working with our vendors to figure out more details about what's happening and how we can stop it.

After reading others' comments, that they were able to re-subscribe manually, I tried doing the same thing and it worked for me, too. Hope it was okay to do this! I just really needed more CW vouchers asap.. lol D:


My sub didn't renew on the 19th like usual.

I was able to resubscribe and my gold account is still working after like a day. Any kind of update would still be appreciated.. it's been almost a week since this post. Like should we be trying to resubscribe? Is everything going to be ok??

Is there any update on this? My (paypal) subscription stopped working during regular duration.

Good gracious, whyyy. I'm so sorry. That sounds incredibly frustrating and annoying for you and for everyone with subscriptions.
My Subscription just auto-renewed today, as scheduled. I received all the perks as expected, except the Special Item, which hasn't been released yet. I hope the Subscription auto-renewal is now working for the rest of you.

I was able to renew mine by hand. It was a few days late for the automatic renewal so I went ahead and tried and it went through immediately. So if you’re waiting for yours to renew, maybe try doing it yourself.
Thanks to the staff for all their work on this; too bad you’re having to go through it. I can’t imagine what it would be like to have this much time on your hands and nothing better to do with it. 🤦🏼♀️ People are weird.

Are we supposed to make a ticket if it cancels? I got my goddess subby cancelled and I def dont want to miss out on the renewal rewards

holy jeeze people have way too much time on their hands, what did this site ever DO to warrant 10,000 fraudulent attempts per DAY??? my sub was supposed to renew earlier this month on the 4th but never did and i'm not sure if that means it's not renewing or if i have to resubscribe or what, because i saw others posting about problems and figured i'd wait it out and see. this must be so frustrating for y'all because for us it's just bonuses in a game but for y'all it's your livelihood and how you put food on the table and a roof over your heads. i hope stuff can get taken care of soon.

Mine is suppose to auto renew on the 30th of this month and I myself as of right now don't know if the problem will be resolved by then or will my subscription be automatically cancelled or not or will it go ahead and go through, not too sure how that is going to work out. I guess I will have to find out then or if we hear anything else before then.


I suspected this was the issue. Since I am currently seldom on the site, I will hold off on reinstating my subscription that canceled itself (close tot he first the month this month) until this gets resolved, it is safe to resubscribe, and/or the first of the month roles around again (I need to be careful what time of the month it comes out). I have a terrible time with RECAPCHA so I don't want to add my attempts to a system already under stress.

What actions do us subscribers need to take? My sub is supposed to renew today. Should we cancel until further notice? Will subscriptions continue on their own once the issue is resolved?

as a professional fraud analyst.... ouch 😬 that's honestly crazy, those are numbers i would expect to see from a MUCH larger business with more widely applicable opportunities for real-world profit. if my knowledge of fraud analysis and mitigation can help y'all in any way, i'd love to know more!

This is super frustrating on multiple levels. Not the least that you're having to go through trying to get this resolved. It's never fun being monkey in the middle and I fully appreciate that.
First of all, I want to thank y'all for doing what you can to investigate the issue and take steps to prevent it from happening again. One of the reasons I've stayed on Subeta where other sites have long since faded in my memory is because the staff are awesome and work so hard for our community. Everyone, from Keith to the artists to the mods, you all work super hard and I so appreciate that y'all have kept the site running as smoothly as you have for as long as you have. Subeta is a place I always feel like I can come back to and be at home, be accepted, and have fun. Please don't let my mini-rant put y'all off, I do appreciate you. I may not play daily anymore, but I grew up with Subeta, I love it, and I want to support y'all in exchange.

I'm an adult now who lives paycheck to paycheck. The money for the subscription is carefully earmarked each month out of my budget. I already re-subscribed after being unsubscribed, so I've already used that money. I keep the subscription going so that when I DO get a chance to play, I have the perks of a gold account without having to go through the hassle of buying a gold account medal through the secondary Kumos site and reactivating it every time it runs out. So right now it feels like I wasted money that could have gone somewhere else since I'm back to being a regular account within that month's time frame. :/

That sounds like a bot/script problem, as someone else said, but I fail to see how that's a Subeta problem when it's clearly on the processor's side.

Does this only affect Braintree payments?
My subscription went through without problems... I'm glad it is, because all CSC buying links now lead to the Kumos site (also the Avatar Borders) and I cannot use any, because Kumos (whatever has been done with it after the composting game) now no longer works on my browser.

Are there even 10,000 people who still use this site? Subeta is a pretty small player-base compared to other sites, as far as I'm aware, so it seems odd for fraud attempts to be that high. Unless this is some kind of targeted thing like the page loading something that was mentioned a while back.

Not as worried about the subscription as I am my dwindling CSC xD sorry y’all are having these issues and hope it can be resolved soon.
