No, the current Trivia always said current name. Also, the News isn't a "where", where implies a place. And there are many different words and symbols on Atebus, where specifically can only be Galaxan Wastelands.

Wow. I have no idea what this one is, but I got the last one in, like, 5 minutes. Using FIREFOX. Of course, I had already seen the <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0> in the wastelands place before...ALSO while using FF. 
 
So, uh, yeah. .__. Chill, people. IE or FF or any other browser, it doesn't matter - you just have to know how to look. (Or, ya' know, already know what the answer is, of course. ;3 )

In a February news post Keith used that icon (<img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>) so that is what I answered. Very specifically I might add. I obviously did not have the answer they were looking for, but the smiley was used on that news post also. (I think it was Feb 5th). I am bummed that I didn't win the cool minion, but i'll get over it as there is more to life than pixels. I just think the question wasn't the best one to ask as it seemed to favor IE users and there were technically multiple answers. Just my opinions/feelings. I support the staff 100% in their decision to pull the question early and I truly feel they do the very best job they can to make this site fun and entertaining as well as as fair as possible. Glitches and mistakes happen. I for one appreciate the open dialog between staff and users and therefore am trying not to come across as whining or complaining...just making observations from my perspective.

Oh but Alraune, you just contradicted yourself. Or did you not read the question carefully enough, because it states "Where SPECIFICALLY on the site might you see this <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0> ..." SPECIFICALLY. It never said which "page" you see it on. In that case, it's implied that you should be as specific as possible. What does it matter that you can't actually enter "Galaxan Wastelands"?

The trivia actually was unfair since it gave IE users a huge advantage no wonder some people were angry about it. 
I myself found it in IE in less than 5 minutes after searching for hours if firefox. 
I really respect the staff and the hard work they put into the site but there's no denying that they made a mistake this time. 
People have the right to complain about this get over it!

Oh dear god,all you people whining about the browser thing just shut up.Geez.It doesn't matter the browser,my friend uses FF and I use IE and we both found it just fine.And there has been a trivia like this before where it asked where does it say "Uh oh,do not enter" and it's on the Atebus page but it was ON the Coda Caves,just like the <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0> was ON the Galaxan Wastelands.Lord Almighty.

Just because you like other browsers over IE doesn't mean that everyone else does (or should) and it doesn't mean that anyone has to code for them. I use IE because I like it better. 
And don't complain because you searched for hours. That's no ones fault. 
Oh, and the trivia said "specifically" on the site. Atebus is somewhat general.

I went through the same Firefox/Opera/other browser crap, then finally went to IE when I read comments in the last trivia news update about people complaining over the whole IE thing. Then I found it, put Atebus as the answer, since thats -where- it is. You can't get to the Galaxan Wastelands page. You got the "<img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>" when you were on ATEBUS. <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_sadface.gif border=0> 
Sorry, I'm just.. really upset. .__. I really wanted that minion.

1. Subeta needs to pay attention to web standards. Internet Explorer certainly isn't the only browser in the world, nor is the best (definitely not). So why code specifically for it? Web standards, please. 
 
2. Alt text is meant for the text displayed when an image is not available, and that is why it didn't appear in the mouse-over text in any normal browser. The correct property to use would have been title text. 
 
3. I found it after hours of searching in Opera, and then hours of searching in Internet Explorer, and I put the logical answer. I put Atebus, and got it wrong. That should have been accepted. I'm disgusted that it wasn't - no, I don't really care for the prize, it's the principal. The trivia asked where you see '<img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>' - and you see it ON THE ATEBUS PAGE. Damn it.

The galaxy pets are very popular, so the price will naturally be inflated since so many users want one for their pet's minion. And I know there's posts about this already, but the Trivia wasn't that difficult to figure out if you knew how to use Properties. It shouldn't be that hard to figure out how to use your own browser. : /

I thought this one was pretty easy, I just hoped I selected the right term. 
 
As for all the people complaining about the last trivia, you need to get a grip. It is ONE trivia. About five or so trivias are posted every week, so move on with your life that is obviously so horrible because you don't have some PIXELS you wanted. Besides, I too use Firefox, and I heard that it was easier to find in IE, so I tried finding it in IE. Still no luck. Just because some people have IE and others don't doesn't mean the people with IE are going to get it; it was still quite difficult. Besides, just because you don't have IE doesn't mean you can't solve the trivia without looking at the properties; if you use "My Computer" or "Recycle Bin" and type in a website name, it works like IE. 
 
And for those not complaing about the "unfairness," but about the cost, just wait a week or two. Considering 800 of the Astra-things were awarded, there only reason they could be so expensive is because it is so saught after and because it came from "the unfair trivia." 
 
So yeah. 
 
Anyway, I liked this new trivia. If I get it right I need 8 more correct answers instead of nine. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

It would be better at this point if the staff member who runs the Trivia do another trivia with the same prize as the previous trivia because in all honesty, it was not fair on the people who cannot use IE or just don't want to use IE. I understand that the staff members may not be aware of this fact but they should take this into concideration next time.

I feel like lots of people here have no respect for the staff. No one has to run this site. It is a privilage that it exists. It takes lots of time, money and effort to keep it running. I greatly respect those who keep this site running. Not everything goes as planned. They are not responsible for problems that you system has or any issue that arise with your internet browser of choice. If you don't like how things are ran, go somewhere else. It is not like you pay to take part in this site. 
 
After all it is only a game, and you guys are getting upset over a few pixels. The staff is not responsible for high prices on items. The users do that. It is supply and demand. It happens in real life too.

I like the trivia a lot, it makes me think and have to find small details. I discover new items from it all the time. Also the trivia items are cute. Keep up the good work Subeta team.

By taking it out early, but keeping the price you reward the abusers by giving them an item for which they will ask millions in trades. 
The solution would be to give out the same price with a new Trivia.

I didn't meant to imply that using an alternate browser would cause viruses. But the reason most people use Firefox is because IE is horrendously virus-prone. So the fact that people value the safety of their computers indirectly caused them to miss the Trivia. 
 
I didn't even know people were posting about the Trivia until now, by the way. I'm sure a lot of us didn't think that the answer would be hinted at on the forums, given that it's against the rules, so it's not fair to say that we were told to use alternate browsers to find it.

In no way would finding the answer by using an alternate browser cause a virus on a computer. And I don't think that anyone who saw the IE comment and did it was actually cheating, it was just that people were posting it everywhere when discussion of the current Trivia ian't even permitted, plus telling their friends, plus creating multiple accounts.

I'm just happy to see such a huge discussion on the trivia that goes to show that users cared the way Subeta works, and they want it to improve and make sure maximum fairness is around.

I just went along when someone suggested to use IE. No one told me where or how to find it. Like I said in the previous news post, I found it completely by accident. I found it when my dog bumped my mouse and it just so happened to "land" on the place on Atebus where the answer was. But now I feel kinda...guilty because I used IE when someone suggested it. I feel like I cheated now.

In all honest, I don't have IE or FF I have a mac so I use Safari and I found the answer to the trivia without any hints. All you had to do was think logically about the question. I found the what I thought was the answer before a few of my friends who use IE so it was a fair trivia, don't whine because you didn't think about it

Hey, now. Is it "childish" to assume that Subeta's staff will take feedback on difficulties that people perceive with their methods? I'm not demanding that they recompense me for a trivia I didn't even answer (because I simply had no idea where to look), just pointing out a difficulty with the way it was worded.

Agreed that life isn't fair..and yea to beating a dead horse..but I'm another NON-IE user and feel punished for that. I don't mind clever trivia, even when I don't get them (like the one that one off the keyboard letters), but this wasn't clever. I wasted a lot of hours looking when it was IMPOSSIBLE for me to find it because of the browser I choose to use. And while there have been badly worded ones, and sometimes multiple correct answers - EVERYONE was at the same disadvantage for those..that's the difference here.

I personally can not wait until the staff disallows comments. The lot of ya' are ungrateful for what the site does provide, blinded by the mistakes of the staff, which are only human.

I think there are other factors coming into play for the number of users who got the right answer, though. Many people who don't otherwise participate participated, and people were more careful about answering because they really wanted the prize. I tend to search less carefully and throw a guess in if I don't care very much for the trivia, and take my time with the ones with prizes I really want. I still think it's unfair that IE users were conferred such a huge advantage. It took me several hours in Opera, and only minutes in IE. Right-clicking takes much longer if you're searching the entire site. And what about the users without IE and without the ability to right-click? 
Again, I apologise for my complaint; I'm very happy that I was eventually able to get it by using a different computer. But I can't help but feel it's unfair.

heh, finally, a trivia I'm certain of the answer on, and all we get is a banana on a stick. Meh. 
 
I have to agree that the past few have been...way too vague. And the alt text thing was just unfair. You could have at least given us some sort of warning, like we needed to be using a browser that supports ALT text. 
 
Ah well, hopefully the price WILL come down...1 or 2 mil, I'm willing to pay. 10 mil +...no.

OK, I use Safari, I don't even have another browser on my comp... when I click on the galaxy wasteland thing, I don't get anything about properties... I would have to through the very lengthy page source to find that...

Lamia, I'm sure that half of the people who won aren't even online right now. Once they log in and a ton more of the prize get thrown into the trades the price will come down. By tonight I'm sure the price will be much lower than it currently is.

800 so they shouldn't be too expensive?? That's a laugh. if you look through the trading post you'll see that nobody really cares how common an item is. Everybody seems to be full up of greed lately. Again, though, it's not something that would be obvious per the way the text of the trivia was written. :/ That's what's bugging me, more than anything--going to "properties" or "page source" is not my first response if the trivia is worded such to imply it's out in plain sight, like the answer for the Gift Center one was.

LadyKai, right click on the Galaxan Wastelands then select properties. At the ver bottom it says "Alternate text: <img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>"

No, you can't only see it by hovering in IE. You can also right click around the image and look at "Properties" in firefox, which is how I found it--just a little less easy. <img src=/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif border=0>

Oh, no, come on, that is not fair. The page that "<img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>" shows up on---the page you can find it on is Atebus, not the Galaxan Wastelands page. There is no Galaxan Wastelands page, so logically that shouldn't be the answer.

Okay *goes to try*.. When I right-click on the Wastelands, all I get is an option window.. I do not see a '<img src=/images/smilies/smiley_xface.gif border=0>'... I do not mean to be whiney.. but I just do not see this particular question as being fair straight across the board. I was having a hard time finding the answer (obviously) and instead of hunting for these clues that were apparently posted throughout the site by users, I kept searching on my own (like you're supposed to do) only for the trivia to be ended early and the prize to be reduced greatly in value because on some nincompoops. 
*sighs* At least I won't have to pay an ungodly amount for the 'flaik... there are certainly plenty of them out there...

It was FINDABLE, but it wasn't somewhere a lot of people using FF would look, because the way the trivia was written implied it'd be out there on the page itself. IF there had been something to the effect of "hint: it may not be in plain sight", then I'd think it was fine and wouldn't be so upset that I hadn't found it.

I do agree that the ban on discussing ideas and giving hints is a good one myself, but again...that was difficult for a lot of people for the wrong reasons. :/ 
 
And people will jack up the prices anyway, Deb, you know that. The same way the Grove of Flowers is currently 1mil in trades despite being only 45 tokens in the shop. X);

Yes, the hover only works in IE but we've had other Trivias exactly the same as this and in Firefox you only have to right click properties, so it was findable using Firefox as well.

*purrs* Well my system doesn't even have IE, so I don't have the option. And since discussing ideas and whatnot is against the rules (which I totally agree with, by the way)... I just do not see how this trivia was fair to all users. *still steaming a smidgen*

Thanks to people posting clues everywhere there were almost 800 won (the most of anything won for Trivia in a very long time), so they shouldn't be horrendously expensive.
