In a sudden display of color and grace, the Spectrum Chelon and Angelic Mallarchy have just come onto the scene! :)

Actully sometimes I would. (with the pet I've been waiting for a very long time, which isn't actually a Serpenth). People wont even look at the profile of the pet as he has no picture (and so people cannot easily find the link). It makes him very lonely. <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_sad.gif" border="0" />

Alright, enough.
Let's get back to commenting on the pets that have just been released, shall we? <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />

"Yes, but how many years do I need to wait? (as I really have been waiting years for some things)"<br /><br />As many years as it takes. Subeta's art doesn't revolve around any one user's needs, wants, or demands.<br /><br />The last two artists of the serpenth are no longer with Subeta, and for a period of time, they didn't have an artist assigned to draw them. DNA has since taken them over recently, and that's when she drew the poll version you remember. Would you prefer that she allowed the first volunteer to draw the serpenth, regardless of their skill at drawing reptiles? You'd certainly get your serpenth faster, although you might not like it. Quality has to be put first.

I'm thinking the Gavia Immer question was meant to be an insult.
You're starting to get borderline rude here, Cooter.

Others have been waiting years for things too. Theres only so many artists... Patience is a virtue.
If I was the Artists boss I'd read the news post and then tell them "Dont work on anything the whiners want.." Sadly, I am not.

The Spectrum Chelon has been drawn really well (I can see that even though I'm not keen on that pet type). The Angelic Mallarchy, I think I would have preferred if the tail when up, like a duck rather than around it like a lizard. The rest of it looks good though.

Never heard of Gavia Immer.
I recognise the name Exhibitted. So many people seem to have recently changed their names, it gets confusing (I can't recognise some of my friends half of the time! <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />)

Oh, wow. I'm not usually a fan of either species, but these two pets are absolutely gorgeous. I love the Chelon's expression, the coloring, the design, the spectrum swirls, the pose... everything. It's fantastic. The Mallarchy has such a wonderful color scheme. So soft and pretty, and the expression is so precious. <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_heart.gif" border="0" /> The wings are beautiful, and I absolutely love the coloring. The shading is just amazing; I honestly can't stop gawking at it. I won't be getting either, but I just love them. They're so well-done! I've actually spent the past five minutes just staring at them. c:

I like the way both of these pets are done. Both look different than what I would have thought of. Great job
Again why I said "Hover over her name and see it says Artist at the bottom."
Were you ever friends with Gavia Immer by any chance?

That wasn't quite what I meant... Also I cannot get Jag's Look up to load so I can't work it out that way.
Granted given the way you treat artists I can't blame any of them for not being buddy buddy to you.
Omg. You're kidding right? Red Icon? Hover over the name so it says "Artist"?
You're ... Never mind- Don't need a warning <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" />

Erm... Jag, who are you? I have never seen you around when I've been online.

I love the shell and color gradiant on the Chelon. I don't know if I really like the swirly rainbows as much. The Mallarchy almost looks albino, I still like it though.
Malabui, we reply to sMails when we get some. At least I know I do. It all depends on how you ask for it, too. If you just go like ''WHERE'S MY ______ YOU'RE SO SLOW WHO'S IN CHARGE OF IT''... Then you're right. It's a lot less inviting to reply to. I've had several people sMail me to ask me if the ____ was coming out soon (I was lucky, I guess, since all the pets they asked for were the ones I'm in charge of), and I can't recall ANY I've not replied to. :/
Little late, but thankyou, Luxe. c: That redline on the actual picture cleared lots up for me. <3
Well, I think both pets are awesome, and that's what I cme here to say. I read some of the other posts, and wow! Now I also want to say.... quit your whining! This isn't the place for it. The artists do their best, and I think they do a terrific job. There's no other pet site that even comes close to measuring up, as far as I'm concerned. Kudos to the artists.... these are beautiful!!
Oh, and DNA... well said!!

That Chelon is beautifully drawn. The expression in its eyes is perfect for the "color" it is.
My only complaint about the mallarchy is that it's anatomy seems very off to me. I think if the wings were hugging closer to the body it might seem more accurate to me, as seen <a href="/redirect.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.fws.gov%2Fduckstamps%2Ffederal%2Fresults%2Fimages%2FDuck%2520Stamp%2520Copy%2520Second%25202004.JPG" target="_new">here</a>.
I think it's just the wings that make it seem off to me, and possibly the rear end (it seems a bit lumpy, and unevenly shaded, and i think that's the tail dropping down, but it is hard to tell.) I apologize for not being incredibly specific with what I think looks off about it, but I think this is the best I can do with phrasing my ..."complaint".
However, I must say, I am far from disappointed with either drawing. Subeta artists, have, once again, proved to me why this is my favorite site to frequent <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />

I actually get people mailing me all the time asking about when a pet will be revamped/made in a certain colour <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" /> And I'm usually able to give a rough idea as to if it's being worked on, or at least who is working on it! I think the key is to be positive about it all. A lot of us artists have been finishing up school this past few months <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />
I have asked staff before and the last few times, I received no reply from them which rather limits finding out when something will happen. I don't post about pets on the forums or off site.
Beautiful work to the artists.. Now can we please see... JUST KIDDING! <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_heart.gif" border="0" />

Malabui, we read the new comments. Artists rarely take their time to roam ALL the forums to see if MAYBE you've said something about this or this species. Offsite-critique is also less likely to be even FOUND.
If you want to know when a pet will be done(if we CAN tell you, we will), sMail an artist. Not everything you do needs to be public. If you don,t know the artist's who in charge of the pet, ask any artist: ALL the staff can check our pet assignment list. (Artists will more likely be able to rpely fast, though.)
Otherwise, stay on topic in the news comments. This is about the Chelon and the Mallarchy.

Why is it only when we post here we get any answers about if a pet will come eventually or if its completely scrapped?</blockquote>
How often do you mail a member of staff and respectfully ask about the status of a pet?
Cause when I do that I have no problem finding out what I am looking for.

I never give suggestions on pets as with all things, it never looks how you want when its drawn (even if you draw it yourself). I just don't want to wait another 2 years for a pet I want to come out. There's patience and then there is 'It'll never happen, however long you wait'. I feel that its more the latter.

And for the record, before anyone complains about me speaking my mind--we Subeta staff are close to the users, like you all say you appreciate so much.<br />
That means we're gonna tell you what we think when we believe it's necessary, too, unfortunately. <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" />

Don't you find it funny that the only time anyone ever accuses artists of working on the pets THEY want to do is when they're not turning out the pets that person is after? Hah.
<br /><br />
Really, I'm sick to death of this "this pet is nice. Give me what I want" attitude. Sick. To. Death. Not that I think it'll ever change, since the juveniles who make it can never be bothered to read anything anyone has to say about their gripey, complainy comments.
Did I mention I'm sick of this "I need to find something to complain about" mentality, as well?
<br /><br />
Well, I am.
<br /><br />
Observant people may notice that artists are always DELIGHTED to take constructive crit if it's actually helpful at all. We want to improve, believe it or not (the least reason not being so you all get off our backs about what "looks wrong/is hideous"/what artist "needs to stop drawing pets"/other mean-spirted crap some of you seem to think counts as critique!)
The problem is, so few people understand the difference between critique and just whining about what they personally dislike without any tact whatsoever. Tact is the key word here, people!
<br /><br />
<strong>TACT.</strong>
<br /><br />
Saying something "looks off" is not helpful. Saying something is "ugly" or "awkward" is not helpful. So if you think that's critique to you, don't be surprised when you get a tongue-lashing and when we don't take your "suggestions" because you're being a rude git. c:
<br /><br />
(And don't be surprised when we all laugh at you when you moan about staff being "mean" afterwards, either. So you believe -you're- being polite and reasonable?)

<br /><br />
Now, the serpenth IS coming. I cannot and will not say when, since there is quite a lot on it I'd like to rework; I've learned and improved a lot in the months since I did the first attempt. But that still doesn't mean I think a news post about two -completely different pets-, drawn by two completely different artists, is the place for discussing it.
<br /><br />
The serpenth will come out when it has met my standards and the standards of the rest of the AD, and when it is -ready-. Same with any other pet. <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_heart.gif" border="0" />
<br /><br />
And just like any other pet anyone ever annoys us to get out, when it is out, I just know you'll be the same ones crooning that it's "not what you expected" and that we "didn't take your <strong>suggestions</strong>".
<br /><br />
Try looking up the definition of "suggestion" sometime. <img src="http://www.subeta.org/images/smilies/6398_emoticon_wink.gif" border="0" /><br />

Malabui, I can definitely tell you I'm not just working on MY favourite pets! I mean, the mallarchy is probably my least favourite of my pets, and here we are!
The unfortunate thing about the serpenth is that it's artist is also the creative department boss - and therefore very busy! She's been working on Valenth (the new adoptables site) as well as directing us, and also if Keith wants an item STRAIGHT AWAY it's usually DNA he goes to! So she's very busy. But you're right, that Serpenth she did WAS amazing, and I can't wait to have it on the site n__n DNA is such a perfectionist, though, that she wants to make it perfect and not just rush it out in between her other commitments. It will get here eventually!
Also, I think you'll find that the other recent 'up for revamp' pets have been the work of other artists, not DNA, so we're really not working on our favourite pets first, it just happens that each artist has different things to get out!
And as far as this mallarchy goes, thank you everyone for your positive comments n__n I found this quite a challenging pet, as I was trying to take inspiration from a swan, and their wings are quite...interesting, to say the least!

@Malabui I'm telling you that it will. It makes no sense for Subeta to just say, LOLOL LET'S GET RID OF SERPENTHS GUISE! They know that every species needs attention, and in due time, it will get done. Just because a chelon, mallarchy, or tutani comes out, that doesn't mean that it is that artists favorite pet and they're neglecting other species because they don't feel like working on them. Neither the chelon artist nor the mallarchy artist work on the serpenth. Accusing them of only doing what <i>they</i> want to do shows ignorance of how the creative department on Subeta works. They're working on what they're <i>assigned.</i> Right now, the artist responsible for the serpenth has been <i>assigned</i> to work on several things for Subeta, which unfortunately takes away from her time spent drawing pets. She's neither working on her favorite nor her least favorite pet. She's working on cash shop items, graphics, costumes, managing the other artists, releasing items, etc. Believe me, I'm sure she knows that people are waiting on the serpenth and she wants to get to it, too. Frankly though, with people showing such a lack of consideration, I'd be hard-pressed to find the proper motivation and inspiration to finish it, myself. I don't know how she does it.

Chelon is beautiful. The other..the tail doesn't quite look right. I think it might have been suited up or something- I didn't even notice it at first, to be honest, and had to figure out why it looked like an egg before I found it.
Everything else about it is well-done. x3 Congrats on a fine job on the two species. <3

Luxe- No, the pets I want wont come eventually. I've waited nearly 2 years for one pet. Its still not even at the design stage.
Its just annoying with the Serpenth that they designed the pet, got us to vote for it and nothing has been heard of it since, yet they have revamped several other pets in the time we have waited. The artists shouldn't just work on their favourite pets.
