EPICon: New Games!
Hello, I'm Titania McGee with the Channel 5 News Team: your BEST source for Subetan news stories! Tension is running high at EPICon this year, with the focus of the week being the unusual challenge between video gamer Nico and tabletop advocate Manwar! EPICon has split itself dramatically between the two teams, and tempers are hot.
In the spirit of the competition, game developers Magicians of the Mesa (brought to wild popularity with their card game Alchemy: the Gathering) and Vega Corporation (known for the classic Turbo the Priggle) have rushed to set up the new games they brought to demo for the con! Unexpectedly, Manwar and Nico have commandeered the games of their respective flavor, and aren't allowing members of the opposing team to play! It seems, however, that Magicians of the Mesa and Vega are encouraging this competition to the limit, making no move to stop them!
The two new games are a card game version of popular tabletop RPG Mazes and Mahars, and a retro 8-bit defense game called Omen Raiders. Rumor has it that the heads of their respective sides will be doling out points for their team for doing well at the games, and the queues are getting deep! They look awfully fun, so I'd suggest interested con-goers get in line now!

I'm so glad I kick serious-business ass at Omen Raiders, because I thoroughly suck at restocking.
0 points for a decent score. Not as good a score as I was getting last night, but it wasn't bad.

I'm pretty sure something was said about adjusting the points gained after they've figured out the average points people score on the games, don't pin me down on that though!
As fun as this new game is, if I weren't so tired of overpriced books by now I probably wouldn't play it at all.
I mean honestly: 0 RS points for over 2000 points?
As much fun as this is, I'm just waisting my time if I earn no points at this.
I hope the points get adjusted in favour of us weaker players later, until then I'm better of going back to Restocking.

I really really love this idea! But I just spent about 5-10 intense minutes playing Omen Raiders and yes, it was a ton of fun and a nice break from RS'ing got a really nice score and made... 2 points towards my team. I just.. I can't justify that. I think I'll be sticking with RS'ing for a little while.
This is really neat but I think that 2 points are not a big enough incentive to get me playing Mazes & Mahars again. Just takes too long in that time I could restock stuff worth at least 10 times that...
Simply pixelizing normal Subeta artwork does not make 8-bit <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_raspberry.gif" border="0" /> but Space Invaders is fun regardless~

Only thing I have to complain about is how long it took me to play (and I won, yay!) and I only got 2 points...meh.

I really like M&M so far! The art ad the game play are really fun and I'm hoping we get to try the other game once Nico and Manwar get along again. Nice job Subeta!
Mazes and Mahars is bringing back memories of lunchtime Magic: The Gathering battles with my friends back in high school.

My only beef seems to be the amount of points you earn... you get 2 points regardless of winning, winning without taking damage, or just outright losing.
Since I cannot beat out those with machine-like reflexes in the shops... I'll keep playing this for a while though. Its guaranteed points and its fun <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/6398_emoticon_smile.gif" border="0" />

The art in mazes and mahars is amazing. I especially love the little Mahar token. It's pretty cool to have a game where you play as the dragon for once.

I can't play Mazes, Omen is OK. I hope they open both games up to everyone after the war is over so we can each try the others. (Only way to get to these games is through the news post? I don't see them in Games.)
It's official, I'm addicted to Mazes & Mahars. I hope these get to stay around after the war because goddamn do I love this game!

LOVE love love Mazes & Mahars!!! It's gorgeous and very well done. I was getting a bit miffed at the beginning as it seemed the Maze won every single roll there for awhile, but it evened out after awhile. I am impressed. 2 points - hmmmmms seems a bit chintzy for how long it took to play the game, but then again, I DO have faith ya'll will work it out. (And it sure didn't take me 20 mins. Took longer than that, lol)
I played pretty well for 3 games, but got zero points for each of them? I played better the first time and then I got 2 each.....

Bad internet <img src="http://images.subeta.net/smilies/smiley_sadface.gif" border="0" /> Was just wanting to say the point ratio is kind of ridiculous, it makes sense to be lower than RSing, but it takes about 10 minutes per game, and a good RSer can make ALOT more than 6 points per half hour =/ It's still not fair to those of us who suck at RSing.
Can these games still exists even after the convention??? Please??? Pretty please with a cherry on top???

Not too fond of Omen Raiders, but it's cool to have new games. ^^

I like the card game quite a bit, but I do hope the amount of points are adjusted. This is more fun than restocking for me, but it's really not worth the time for 2 points. ;-;
