Beth is a pretty enigmatic person, and though she tends to be harsh in her words and judgment, the underlying truth is that she actually cares. Not everyone gets to be aware of that, however, since she can be an intimidating person. She really doesn't seem to care either way, because the few friends she makes are all she needs. Beth has never been a very sociable person, she likes having time to herself and sharing the rest with the people she chooses.
