Calm, reserved, quiet, solitary, melancholic at times, complicated, abstract thinking. Yulia tends to express her affection with insults and her contempt through silence. She can be sociable when she wants to, but it takes effort. Or copious amounts of alcohol.

Yulia might have been different had she been born into another family...Or she might not. It's hard to know whether her character is due to nature or nurture, and perhaps that mystery is one of the reasons she is a psychology student. She does well at studying, in truth.

Yulia's family was always as dependable as the weather, except for when they asked things of her. She grew tired of asking them for help, and she learned not to rely on anyone. As she grew up, it became apparent that she was a strange and lonesome child. No one went out of their way to think...That maybe, she was just a fragile being who thought she needed a hard outer shell to survive.

The years went by, and Yulia took comfort in not being judged by her family by studying. They told her that much; all that was needed of her was academic success. Given that, they would provide her with anything material she asked for.

Yulia hated that with her mangled heart. She didn't ask for much though her parents were wealthy, because she knew everything was absolutely conditional. Bribes for success, serious threats for failure. That was the only way her parents raised her, making it plainly obvious that her worth was otherwise...Zero. At one point when Yulia was in fifth grade, her mother threatened her with removing her from her expensive school, because if she did not yield certain results then she was not worth spending the money on. It hurt.

Yulia has only mentioned her childhood to the few people she knows she can absolutely trust, which makes it mostly a secret. So most wonder what it is that motivates the permanent melancholy in her eyes and that sad smile that she wears on her face when she thinks no one is looking.

Meanwhile, Yulia tries to overcome her emotional restraints to live a wholesome life and have fun with other people. The pain from a lonely childhood is just a numb and sometimes pulsing scar now, but she's still terribly afraid of judgment and rejection.She hopes not, but...Perhaps Yulia is destined to live alone.
