Zelta never remembered his parents clearly. All he had were short glimpses of traveling with the whole family and a few of his mother's comforting words. And then, sudden fear that vanished while his brother Zick held him close. Zelta was too young to understand what was happening. Zick kept telling him their parents had something important to do somewhere far away, and the three of them should wait in a shelter until mother and father would come back. After the first shock Zelta actually became thrilled of their "adventure". Although Zaxy seemed to be out a lot, Zelta was happy that he could play with Zick much more than before. The cave they lived in was a perfect place for the spooky games that Zelta loved to play. Zaxy returned from his trips with tasty grub, and Zelta thought some nice people gave it to them. He sometimes wondered the injuries Zaxy had after his night shifts and the worried faces Zick made when he looked away from Zelta, but he believed when he was told that everything was fine. Zelta still found it weird that his brothers had to argue so much about whether they should tell Zelta something or not. He didn't ask about it since he wanted above all that everyone would be on a good mood, and talking about anger-raising topic would just ruin the atmosphere.

In spite of occasional gloominess, Zelta noticed that Zick found a new hobby amongst newspapers. Zelta became a little pouty because he got less attention from Zick, but was still happy for his brother. Also Zaxy arrived from an exceptionally long-lasting trip bringing a friend, Max, with him. For the first time everyone felt relieved. Zelta had fun as Zick read books to him and as he could glimb on the huge back of a werewolf. Since Zaxy was at home more often, Zelta was also able to form a closer relationship with him. However, as Zelta grew older, he wanted to see the world. He persuaded Zaxy and Zick to take him with them to the center of Darkside. Zelta's older brothers were reluctant since the center was full of dangerous monsters and other villains, but Zelta insisted long enough to make them grant his wish.

The journey went just fine until Zelta got interested in a cloud of Dark Matter that was drifting by. He snuck away in order to follow the funny purple balls with eyes, but that caused him to bump into an awful-looking woman. At that point Zelta's brothers had realized that he was missing, and Zaxy was almost next to him yelling at Zelta to shut his mouth and turn away. But Zelta just had to announce something to the old lady: "You are the ugliest thing I have ever seen." After those words the things progressed fast: the woman, who appeared to be a witch, let out a scream of fury and captured Zelta inside a black whirlwind. Zelta lost his consciousness, and next time he woke up, he wasn't himself anymore.

Zelta gained only so much sanity that he could follow his actions as if in a nightmare. He wasn't able to control his body at all. He didin't stay still for a single moment, instead, he kept rolling on the ground while growling loudly. He didn't pay attention to anyone except if someone tried to get too close. Then he attacked instantly. His older brothers had no other choice but to chain Zelta in Max's cellar, where Zick started to try everything in order to get in contact with his little brother. Maybe the only thing that remained of the good old Zelta was his fascination to spooky games. Toys made Zelta settle down at least for short periods, but just the ones that seemed to be haunted somehow.

Though none of it could be seen by others, Zelta was still able to understand how hard his brothers were trying to end their suffering. He felt sorry for Zaxy and grateful to Zick, and wished from his entire soul that he could show them his feelings even one more time.
