In the Beginning...
He glanced secretively from side to side, gingerly padding forward with soft steps, testing whether the environment for his escapade was safe. The ebony strands that wound their way into his line of vision suddenly annoyed him as his nerves began acting up. Moistening his lips, he gracefully, though irritatedly brushed the black bangs from his eyes and continued his forward stride. Now, quickening he turned sharply into an opened door then stood, with his back towards the interior, and quickly gazed down both sides of the hallway he had just emerged from. Seeing not a soul, he disappeared behind the rich mahogany wood and after a moments pause, a click indicated the locking of the door.
She felt the warm color rush across her skin as she caught a fleeting glimpse of the beloved shadowed face of the intruder. She sat primly with a solemn expression as she watched his movements; tiny, barely noticeable movements that betrayed his actions of eyeing each side of the hallway. Her thoughts drifted to the back that faced her, the so-black-it's-blue hair hung in slight waves down his nape and touched the rim of his shirt collar, and while observing this, another rush of color swarmed her face. Her heart quickened as he stepped back with a sudden fluid motion and closed the door, locking it a few moments later. But then he stood there, motionless, back towards her, and silence descended upon the two room inhabitants.
He began to feel her watching, those chocolate brown eyes examining his back. He coughed lightly then turned and walked towards her. Hesitating just barely he gracefully fell to space next to her on the bed, sliding his arms around the, in comparison to him, small body that belonged to his secret love. He pulled her onto his lap and rested the side of his head upon her's, allowing the black hair fall slightly over her quickly changing to auburn hair. He liked that, the way her feelings were reflected so openly when he was with her. It was like her mask fell away at his touch, he trembled slightly, relishing the power that he had.
She snuggled in closer, wrapping her arms around the body that hugged her. "I missed you," she whispered to him softly with a hint of pain and suffering. He had left the Manor two weeks prior and had only just returned a few minutes ago. He was a frequent traveler and mysterious to many of the Manor, except to her. He was a tight flower bulb to outsiders but when her gentle touch reached him with a soft stroke to the closed petals, the beautiful flower he was, blossomed. He could really care less about others in his life but she, she had his heart in her hands and she would never dare to drop it.
"I know, trust me, I missed you more," he replied with little emotion. But that was normal, they both knew he spoke more easily with his body as the wolves would. Then he stood, with her in his arms, and moved closer to the middle of the bed and sat down again. He sat her to the side of him and he lay down, closing his eyes and put his hands behind his head with a sigh. "This trip was a long one, but I'm glad I made it back in time for our one year anniversary," he muttered, peering at her with just one brilliant brown eye. A smiled enveloped her face, he saw, when he mentioned it. He cracked a smile in return and pulled her on top of him and dragged the blanket from the side of the bed to cover the both of them.
"I knew you wouldn't forget," she gushed into his ear warmly in a soft voice. He closed his eyes again and held her against him with his arm, leaving his hand resting on her thigh. She nuzzled his ear lovingly and was rewarded with a kiss. Moments like these were rare for them, the rest of the inhabitants of the Manor were out, thinking she was sick in bed and he was away traveling, otherwise they probably would have been interrupted a while ago. They would do nothing more than snuggle for the night and kiss, but that in fact, was their own little bliss. "You're wonderful, you're wonderful," she repeated quietly remembering a song.
"I still can't believe you would love me, someone who just doesn't fit. Especially with my views of the world, they're so entirely radical and strange to everyone I know. I've seen so much no one else has, I can't fathom anyone who would want me. I'm so boring as well, how can you stand me? I'm so different…" he trailed off before kissing her cheek. He gave her a sheepish look as he noted the slight irate aura emit from her, he couldn't help it though. She was so perfect in his eyes and he? he was so far from perfect, and even though he was perfectly fine with that, he couldn't imagine anyone else would be. Thus, he would keep repeating it, his disbelief. Perhaps he was seeking comfort in her love, in her response, maybe some day he'd really believe it and could say it truthfully that he was suited for her beauty.
"Ohh… His eyes, his eyes, make stars look like they're not shining…" she sang in a whisper, "You're so wonderful, and I tell him every day." The irritated aura had left her and it returned to one with warmth and bursting with love, though with a pepper of disappointment. "You know, you know, you know, I'd never ask you to change. If perfects what you're searching for, then just stay the same," she continued to sing. Then after a small pause she spoke again, "You know you're absolutely the most perfect match to my soul. I love you with every living cell in my body, there's nothing about you that would or could change that. You're different, but so is everyone else, they're all just in an extended form of denial. At least we know who we are, or rather, we don't lie to ourselves. We actually attempt to figure out who we are. Also, in this quest, we are brought together even more. Though we are so distinctly different, we are still the same. As well as the fact that even with you gone so far away at times, we're always together. No one can change the way I feel about you, ever. I'm yours, you're mine, no matter the cliche, it's true. You are perfect, you've just got dust on your mirror if you can't see that." She slid her hand to rest on and caress the side of his face. She stroked his cheek and wiped away the tear that had begun to fall down his face. "This is a joyful night, it's our night. Another milestone, though small in comparison to the future we have together ahead. Some day, some day, we won't sneak anymore and we'll have the most beautiful wedding and the most beautiful life ahead of us, and definitely gorgeous little children," she wrinkled her nose slightly at the last bit with slight hesitation over the word children. She was a bit young to be thinking of it, but it's a dream for the future no? Who could blame her for dreaming of the wonderful life she would have.
He smiled and felt the warmth of her words rush through his weary body. He leaned forward and kissed her lips gently and ran his hands down the sides of her body and perceived her reaction, pleasure. "I would like two or three young ones.." he taunted playfully as she stuck her tongue out at him. "But, really, don't worry, I won't force you to have any if you don't want to," he let out a small chuckle as she rolled her eyes in response. No matter how much she complained, it would be euphoric for her to have their children, those were her true feelings. He held her close to him and just breathed and she was perfectly content to inhale his unique scent and warmth that she had missed. No more words were needed while they each pondered on their own thoughts while snuggling, occasionally engaging in a bout of playfully loving kisses and caressive cuddles.
