Keen was born mute and so throughout his life, has had trouble both conveying his emotions and relating to others. Despite being completely fluent in sign language, Keen rarely bothers to use it, opting for silence instead. He figures there's no point in trying to communicate with a language hardly anyone knows. He avoids people and pets whenever he can, hating how different he feels among a group of chatting pets. Keen would rather offend by ignoring than to force a pointless failure of a conversation.
Keen gets out a lot of his frustration by occupying himself with physical activities like training and battling. He has a fascination with swords, which are his preferred weapon. The only pet he considers his friend is Yulie, who took it upon herself to learn sign language so she could understand him. He is very protective of Yulie and secretly has feelings for her, despite his distant and reserved attitude. His constant companion is his minion, Merin, who accompanies him everywhere he goes. Merin is the only minion Keen would accept for reasons only known to him.
