No.6 is more than one of the few remaining cities on the planet. It is supposed to be a utopia. It is supposed to be perfect. It isn't. The government killed my family, killed all my people, and took me captive as a child. I still don't know why they spared me. It certainly wasn't softer feelings. The city is corrupt, to the core. Not that the majority of ignorant people know that. They live happy little lives, safe in their stupidity. They swear unswerving loyalty to the city without a single thought. I hated them all.... until I met you.
You were the first warmth I'd ever felt. From all those years back I can still feel your hand in mine. It felt like summer, like an epiphany, like home. As time went by and I kept an eye on No. 6, I swear the first time I saw you was by accident. A glorious accident. You were laughing and I felt that epiphany again. The chance of seeing you again is what has kept me going. For all I say throw away your past, I could never throw away the thought of you. You were too precious to me, even then, before I realized what you meant to me. You saved me in more ways than one. Now it's my turn to save you.
I would risk anything, do anything, to keep you smiling.
