Gilderoy has always been a mother's boy. He was very pampered and spoiled as a child. His most fond memories where the hours of reading with his mother in bed, his room half lit by his nightlight which casted magical beasts and stars on his walls and ceiling. Gilderoy never went to elementary school. His father didn't want him to hang with the wrong children. Muggle children that was. It was never an issue for both him and his mother. Now they didn't have to lose anytime together.
Once upon a day, when Gilderoy was 11 years old, the family owl brought a letter back for him. The envelop looked like it was from last century, especially with the red wax seal on the back. The father was extremely excited about his son's Hogwarts letter arriving. His mother didn't share her husband's joy. For her it meant separation from her beloved boy, who she has been spending every hour with for the past eleven years.
