Hikari Utsuri
Legacy Name: Hikari Utsuri

Along these mountains of Japan, are Shinto shrines. Shinto Shrines are structures whose main purpose is to house ("enshrine") one or more Shinto kami. Kami are the spirits or phenomena that are worshipped in the religion of Shinto. They are elements in nature, animals, creationary forces in the universe, as well as spirits of the revered deceased.
The area is well decorated with lush trees that are native to Japan along with beautiful sakura (cherry blossom trees). They pond is fairly large and deep with an average temperature around 50-60 °F (10-15.5 °C). The pond is coverage in water lilies, lily pads, and lotus flowers that are usually either pink or white. The lake is mostly kept in the shade throughout the day due to the large forest that over-sweeps the water. Occasionally the sun will creep through the trees giving the lake a nice speckled look of sun and shade. There are many different types of animals that surround the water, but the lake is home to many different types of koi fish and of course, Hikari Utsuri.

Kari is a ethereal mermaid that swims powerfully through the rivers and waterfalls. Her magical abilities are able to heal and also grant wishes to young adventures who help complete quests for her. Don't worry, you'll have to find her first to even begin her quests!

It's always a risky thing to make a character based after a culture that still exists today. The Japanese culture is very rich and diverse and by having a character that represents such an incredible culture; I can learn throughout my research about it. I hope that my fantasy Japanese themed character is not found with offense by any of that culture for I have a deep respect for the Japanese people. I hope to spread truthful information throughout my studies about the people, their beliefs, their rich culture, their struggles they have endured, and their deep history.
