Iskierka is a character from the Temeraire series of books, which according to the author Naomi Novik, centers around "a reimagining of the epic events of the Napoleonic Wars with an air force â€” an air force of dragons, manned by crews of aviators". The Kazilik breed of dragon is highly valued for its ability to breathe fire. Originating from Turkey, the British Aerial Corps had ordered William Laurence, his dragon Temeraire, and his crew, to bring Iskierka's egg.
