Snoop Dogg is a famous hip-hop and R&B african american rapper born on October 20, 1971 in Long Beach, California. He was nicknamed Snoop by his mother due to him bearing the resemblance of the famous character Snoopy from the Peanuts comic and cartoon. His first stage name was Snoop Doggy Dog, which he then changed simply to Snoop Dogg. Snoop quickly gained popularity due to his various albums with his first ever album, Doggystyle, making it to the No. 1 spot on Billboard's hip-hop and Top 200 charts. Other albums such as "Tha Doggfather" and "Reincarnation" also followed in success. A few of his most played and well known songs include Drop It Like Its Hot, Hangover which features the hit K-Pop artist Psy, and The Next Episode in which the song ends with the popular slogan 'Smoke weed everyday.'

His fame would only continue to grow as he was not only known for his music, but also misuse of drugs, specifically marijuana. Snoop Dogg has actually almost become an icon of the infamous herb and was one of the more famous people to use it recreationally and had even influenced most of his fans to partake in the trippy drug. While marijuana causes no real medical harm, naturally law enforcers and others would disagree against such blatant use of the drug. But who could ignore him when 'he's got the rolly on his arm and pouring Chandon and rolls the best weed 'cause he got it going on?~' An actual lyric from his song, Drop It Like Its Hot.

In 2012, while working on a reggae project, Snoop denounced the last part of his name Dogg and replaced it with lion, officially becoming Snoop Lion. However, this name change was only temporary as shortly after, he returned to his old name; the name everyone knew, loved and grew up with (and still called him even after the change). In 2016, Snoop Dogg starred on a cooking show together with Martha Stewart, which both shocked and delighted fans and audiences across America. Many people were very interested to see how much of their cooking, brownies especially, would turn out. Snoop Dogg has also been nominated for the most Grammy nominations of any music artist, but has yet to actually win any. Apparently America is too busy getting high to fully notice him. Hopefully in the future, this will change for the artist as he continues to successfully build his career. But right now, he seems to be happy with his highschool sweetheart, Shante Taylor, whom he has been lovers with since 1997. ❤
