character ideas & rough notes:

salts is a kitchen witch in a small town. they just finished an associates in journalism from the local community college, and they dream of moving to a big city and finding or creating a community of witchcraft practitioners to increase their knowledge. though after graduating something kept tugging at salts to stick around a while. they hesitantly started new projects, compiling a grimoire and book of shadows. impress them, is the idea. have a nice portfolio and some local experience to put on the ol' resume next to the associates degree. but something else was happening too. something is going on in this little nowhere town. there is a new feeling floating in the breeze, a new presence. lover of the paranormal that they are, salts is intrigued, even excited; a real mystery to investigate and document. but soon it takes on a harder edge. weird things keep happening, things that make the small town that salts has called home for their whole life feel less welcome, as if the town itself was nipping at their heels. it's been almost a year since graduating, and there's no denying it now, and no leaving it behind. all of their energy is trying to find out what, or who, has changed this town... without getting their attention, if possible.
