Kui's story

The sunflower stretched itself toward the sun, that life giving essence, its roots reaching deep into the soil to gather nutrients and water from the earth. The sun was bright today, it was nice. From within the petals of the flower, there emerged a tiny head followed by a body with wee insect-like wings attached to its back.
This tiny being, fairy if you will, was 葵(Kui). A fairy born of the flowers themselves, who had known no other life since her moment of birth except the sunflower field from whence she was born. She brushed pollen off her legs, raised her face toward the sun and basked in the morning light. Today was a good day.
From the other flowers emerged others faeries, other sunflower faeries like her, all basking in the morning sun as its life-giving essence radiated over them all.
