There's A Chill In Your Spine On This Omen Isle

The Omen Islands are considered some of the most cursed lands in all of Astrinet. Some believe the lands simply appeared one day and others think they were placed there by some higher power. Sailors prefer to float on by than drop anchor at the barely lit, rickety old dock at the one end of the island and some prefer to just starve at sea than stop and try to hunt for food. They also claim to hear strange whispers while passing by regardless what time it is. The wind whips weirdly around the island and it always seems to want to rain more often than not. Oftentimes bones can be seen along the coast and they seem to be placed in a way that is supposed to keep people from coming ashore. Consensus among those who ride the sea says to just stay as far away as you can from this forsaken place.
There are very few inhabitants that reside on these Islands as while the place may look like a little private paradise it's actually quite deadly. Various creatures of varying strengths make the forest inland their home and roam the place at night. Snakes, spiders and some unknown types of creatures lurk within and only the strongest survive. If one unlucky soul finds theirself washed ashore it's best they make peace with whatever they believe in as it is certain they will meet their grim reaper here. If they come across a cozy little cottage it is best to stay far away as it is home to a ghastly being called Deo, who was once a sailor himself and somehow survived an intense storm. He is no longer human and does not take kindly to others encroaching on his territory thanks to years of awful pranks from some of his old crewmates. Even if you don't approach the cottage you must keep your eyes peeled for Deo's faithful wolf companion, Tantomile, who managed to drift their way to the island after getting her leash caught on some debris during a harsh storm in Scarset City after saving her owner. Deo saved Tantomile by feeding her one of his many elixirs and morphed her into a creature that could survive the rough waters that surround the island. She is fiercely loyal and does not take kindly to anyone trying to sneak up on them as she suspects anyone and everyone would try to do them harm.
Should a stranded soul find their way inland they best be prepared to stumble across an angry and fiery wolf named Saiki. He is one of the older residents of the island and doesn't like that Deo and Tantomile have also made these cursed lands their home. His violence is unmatched and can only be calmed by the sweet scent and gentle voice of his warrior queen mate. Even then there is no guarantee the poor soul will survive as both have been training hard and creating new weaponry to take on their neighbors when the time is right. If the soul manages to find their way through the island without meeting the murderous flame canines then they will find that the ocean here is untamed and wrathful. Apparently the sky in this area is patrolled by the very creature that folks refer to as the "thunder poodle" or "lightning dog". She is one heck of vexed creature and will target anything that twitched so much as a hair. Some think this is a spirit who has been wronged by past owners and others seem to think she relates to or is the curse of Omen Islands. It is unknown why she patrols its perimeter but it is known that you do not sail in these waters when she is near.
All in all it is best to avoid the Omen Islands unless you decide that being a cursed soul on an angry island is something you might like.

Deo

Deo was one of the few humans that found their way to the Omen Islands. Unfortunately he was turned into some sort of creature and doomed to live the rest of his days out in this cursed place. Luckily for Deo he's quite the scavenger and was able to make a comfortable home and even found some old notes that showed how to create interesting little elixirs that can help change the appearance of creatures among other things. Anything Deo takes from the island he tries to replace. Any plants that are harvested he tries to find seeds and plant them in their place. Deo seems to live peacefully on the island with his canine companion though seems to be at odds with a couple of other longtime residents.

TantoTanto found their way to Omen Islands one day after being swept up by a violent storm. The storm in question was caused by a creature who hides herself in the clouds. She will only reveal herself if the victim is near death or has been given a death sentence of some kind. Unfortunately Tanto found herself a victim after saving her owner from the raging waters caused by the storm. In turn, the creature made sure Tanto's leash got caught on some debris and dragged out into the ocean, sentenced to death. Unfortunately for the storm poodle, the wolf dog lived thanks to Deo's elixirs and now lives with him on Omen Islands. Though some would argue the storm poodle was actually trying to save Tanto's life by guiding her to the islands. No one knows for sure. For now Tanto is Deo's faithful friend and loyal guardian, defending him from any unprovoked attack that may arise.

Saiki

Saiki is one of the older residents of Omen Islands and is believed to be the one who started the rumors about the place being cursed and haunted in order to keep folks away. He's the resident blacksmith and there is a rumor that he used to be human and lived in a little village just outside the dormant volcano he now calls home. He makes weapons of all kinds as well as some jewelry but prefers making swords as those are his favorite. His mate tends to do more with gemstones and jewelry and thus goes out to find such things while he stays home and works. He is more of a defender while his mate is more of a wild fighter which is why he absolutely adores her. Saiki took note of some other beings on the islands and it burned a hole in his soul to know his home was STILL occupied! Unfortunately Deo found himself a fierce wolf companion and it'll be hard to take them down. He and his mate train daily to make sure they'll be strong enough to take them on when the time comes.
