Asriel Dreemurr
Asriel Dreemurr
* A legendary being made of
all the SOULs in the Underground.

ASRIEL DREEMURR ?? ATK ?? DEF

* The Absolute GOD of Hyperdeath!
Character, story concept, and some graphical assets are from UNDERTALE,
a PC game by Toby Fox and company.

Profile graphics, artwork and most of the coding are by Vaixation, who also let me adopt Asriel from them! Thank you so much!

All writing, some coding,
overlay and pet are by Marine.
* For just a moment, you offer a smile and say you don't want to fight.

. . .

The young god stares back at you,
fangs bared and eyes alight.
What a pitiful sentiment!

He tosses his head back and makes a horrible, defiant roar that shakes the void, and he draws his swords once again.

It seems that offering mercy won't help you here.
* For just a second, you remember to hold onto your hopes.

You've come this far, and you won't back down.
Even when the world's falling apart all around you, your intuition and desire to survive have kept you going.

Sometimes, hope is the only thing you have in the face of the greatest adversity.. and you believe firmly that it can bring you further.

Your body feels significantly stronger, and warmth surges through your veins as you remember what you're here for.

* Determination.
* You close your eyes and remember your dream for a better future.

A world where all people can live in harmony, where they can live truly happy lives free from pain and suffering.
Perhaps that's not truly possible, but the idea is too wonderful to surrender.

You can't simply give up with that reality waiting for you.

As you breathe in, you can feel a boundless energy surrounding you, that brilliant dream an inspiration to reach out and act.

* Determination.
* Undeterred by your persistence, Asriel gazes upon you, and tirelessly attacks again and again.

With pointed claws, he tears the stars from the sky, bringing them down upon you; with deft lunges he creates blades from thin air and wields them with terrible agility.

* But the pain fades seconds after hitting you.

Even when you gasp and linger on the border of life and death, your desire to survive overcomes all else and restores you to life.

* Your soul refuses to fade away.
* Enraged by this, the young god rips everything apart with a single stroke,
leaving only the empty abyss to comfort you.

. . .

* The whole world is ending.

You struggle and toss about, but your body is paralyzed, a cold chill setting in: Asriel stares on amid brilliant wings, an angel of death simply waiting for your demise.

* Your soul still persists, and yet you are helpless.

* It might be too late to save yourself.

But, with what little determination you still have...

Perhaps you can save something else.
* In a moment, you remember: all the monster friends you've made. Their voices and souls were stolen by Asriel's sudden reappearance, and surely linger deep within his heart.

* With a final throe, you break free, and call out their names. They drift emptily in the void, features clouded over.

Yet, gently, with all your shared memories together, you help them remember who they are.

One, two, three, four, five, six -- they've all been freed, and the darkness begins to fade...

. . .

* But, you feel..

* There's still someone else who needs to be saved.

* You call out one last time.
* "Asriel".

* His expression falters, white pupils trembling as they meet your gaze.

Suddenly, the young god's memories
rush through your own.

* Two young children, infinitely different yet the best of friends.
A happy monster family with an adopted human child.
A hope for the future, a crushed dream, a tragic death... and two unlikely reanimations.

"Wh... what?! What's happening to me?

No! NO! STOP IT!"
* A storm of blistering rainbow energy impacts you as Asriel screams out, and the pain becomes agonizing, unlike anything you've ever felt before.

* But still, with your determination, you weakly resist.

"Get away from me!
Do you hear me?! I'll tear you apart!"

* A whimper begins to crack through his voice, his attacks slowly beginning to wane.

"Chara... do you know why I'm doing this?

Why I'm fighting to keep you around?"
* Beside you, a presence trembles. They lift their head, their red eyes bright, and listen as their brother calls their name.

"It's because you're special, Chara.
You're the only one that's fun to play with anymore.

I'm not ready for this to end."

Tears cloud his eyes, and the silence begins to break as energy gathers around him.

"I'm not ready for you to leave.

I'm not ready to say goodbye to someone like you again..."
A sob wracks Asriel's body, his wings trembling.. his voice reaches a hysteric pitch as he cries out, amassing all his energy into one final strike.

"So please.. STOP doing this...

AND JUST LET ME WIN!"

The storm is unbearable as it washes over you, and each moment you slip further and further away.
Your final breath trembles on your lips, and yet.. in that last flicker of awareness, remembering all your friends, all your dreams, and the reason you've come this far...

You stay determined.
"... I'm so alone, Chara.
I'm so afraid.. C-Chara...

I... I..."

In a moment, the abyss is filled with light.

His horrific guise shed, Asriel looks back at you, his visage childlike once more.
Biting back a sob, he tries hard to smile.

"I... you're... I know you're not Chara.
Chara's been gone a long time."
Hesitantly, Asriel steps back, wiping his tears with the back of a paw.

"You're.... you're going to do a great job with everything in the future.. okay?
No matter what you do... everyone will be there for you.

. . .

And now... well.. my time's running out."

Finally, he turns away,
and disappears into the light.

"Goodbye."
It had been so long.

He couldn't count the years he had been trapped in this body-- this frail, empty husk of a body.

He knew no life, no love, no sense of soul.

But here he was. It was so easy, so pathetically easy, he couldn't believe the lot of them!
Gathering together like this, leaving the human souls wide open during their little pity party!

Those were easily, greedily drawn in, and familiar power stirred alive within him-- but not just yet. You weren't perfect until you had seven.. or until you stole a power enough to amount to seven!

One, two, three, fifteen, forty-three, seventy-two, countless monster souls.
The light finally began to fade away.

Slowly, he lifted his head, drawing breath, claws flexing as something deep within stirred alive.
After all this time, this shape felt alien.. but it was waking up after an eternal nightmare.

He turned slowly, looking to the only one still remaining before him, and called out.

Could they hear him?

The aching, fractured being that had
parasitized this human's SOUL?

He couldn't let them leave again.
In a moment, his shape warped, something far grander to befit the truth. Petite visage became proud and princely, and boundless determination surged from him, fracturing the whole world into a brilliant void.

Hundreds of voices rose into chorus beneath his own, their individual songs stolen and made one fantastic call that shook the heavens.

The angel that had seen the surface and returned,
the legendary monster made divinity,
the one who transcended death.

The prophecies spoke only of him.
And now, nothing else mattered.

He had the power to keep this human here, striking them down again and again only for them to persist with their fantastic determination. It would be a beautiful, never-ending game.

And with them, that someone else would stay, too.
His dear adopted sibling, Chara. His best friend.

Death couldn't part them any longer,
for now he was a god,
and they could be together forever.

A fantastic, ascendant god,
a being of death, stardust and infinite power.

He was complete, and he was glorious.
