The waters of the '9 phoenix hotsprings' are highly sought after. It is told that this spring of youth has the power to grant people health and long life. However, to get there, one must first trek through a vast, dangerous, snowy mountain range, find the beast named Ting, pay her a proper offering, and receive her blessing. Only then will you have access to the hidden portal that leads to the hotsprings. The hotsprings itself exists in a 'limbo' dimension, between the human and spirit realm. ( So mortals are able to visit this place and gain immortality without passing on to the spirit realm. ) If someone *somehow* were to sneak through the portal and manage enter the heavenly spring waters without paying proper homage to Ting, they would shrivel up and die immediately. So just bring her the damn offering.

There's a rumor that the water Wu Long uses in her teas is sourced from these hotsprings, and Chochin soaks in them often because she's a diva and has a maintained a good relationship with all the spirits and deities, Ting included.
