When 14-year-old Elena and her family moved to Mournstead, she never imagined that the family's affable telenine was a creature from the forest. Hayven used to be a sweet and friendly hound with what her dad liked to call "orange cat energy," whatever that meant. But upon moving to town, the telenine seemed to change, becoming more alert, more intelligent, and honestly? Much more ferocious. Hayven's first foray into savagery happened when their home became haunted by a ghost-like monster named Dhemon. The dog became an intense, protective beast that did not hesitate to lunge and snap at the thing that terrorized the family. As Elena grew and joined the Hunters, the hound became joined at the hi with the young girl, leaping at monsters and serving as a distraction to allow Elena to strike. The dog doesn't seem to age much, or get hurt, no matter how the hound is slung around by the monsters.
