river walker

Weir is named because he's exactly that.

A big, sweet, lumbering aquatic creature with legs, Weir likes to lazily walk along the river bed, ferrying smallish creatures from side to side on his back.

When he gets a little sleepy (and he's made sure his back is free of creatures), Weir will just...have a snooze. Right there in the middle of the river.

He's big enough to cause the water to swell around him, rolling over his back, but not big enough to dam the river, causing, you guessed it, a weir!
