Once, a long time ago. Like many legends, there was a great and mighty kingdom. This land was ruled by a wise and benevolent ruler that was loved by his subjects. He had conquered the great demon king and rescued the mortals within his lands! He made the world safe and built a Utopia in the after math of a great era of darkness.

However, like many myths and legends. This was only half of the story. While the story goes that the mighty human paladin turned king had slew the mighty demon king, it wasn't so black and white. While humans spin the tale to their favor, in truth it was a dark and bitter victory for them.

You see, the human king set off for our lands in a final, last ditch effort to claim some victory over my lands. The bastard stormed my castle and attempted to lay siege to it. After several days, and watching peacefully from my window, I saw that the paladin king's men were wavering. To my amusement many had already jumped ship and deserted their posts, those that remained seemed like shadows of their former self. Clinging to thin hope that this would somehow work, that they would return home.

After a brief period of pondering, I decided to take pity on them. Mostly because I wanted to use my front gate once again and one of my retainers griped about having to fly to deliver reports. Humans aren't very effective against Arch Demons. So, this little charade was getting old quickly.
