The sound of scurrying claws in the brush is accompanied by torn pages of books that are carried by the breeze.
”Oh, goddamnit…” a voice mutters from the umbrage.
The glint of cracked spectacles catches your eye from the shadows.

You can’t help but to follow after it.

Once it crawls through the last of the foliage at the end of the dark forest on the outskirts of the swamp, you see what looks to be a sort of sentient slime elegantly take the form of a wolfish creature with long, awkward legs. He has all the grace of a baby deer, and a small set of antlers atop his head to go with the theme. He sort of saunters his way into a large cave in the cliffside, opening a book he’s been carrying (now evidently missing several pages) and murmuring to himself, when suddenly the cavern lights up all around him.

Everywhere, there are shelves of books, and books on every surface. Old and tattered and hefty books of all kinds. Bottles, candles, offputting mirrors, herbs, tinctures, and scribbled runes and charts on the ground.

He sits at the edge of what looks to be some kind of alchemy circle and starts murmuring again, but this time you swear you can hear something murmuring back.
