Mirava was born a Legeica of common coloring and was the middle child of a fairly normal, respectable family. She has an elder brother named Nirik and a younger sister named Nimbia. Her mother and father both live fairly normal lives in the small, quiet community in which they live.

Despite being as most girls are when young and loving pretty, frilly things and gossip, Mirava was always attracted to the art of arena battle, an interest that eventually earned her an ill-placed reputation as a tomboy. Her and her best friend, a male Twilight Legeica named Koukon, would hone their skills in hours of practice, dreaming of one day becoming high level Galactic fighters and defeating the mighty goddess Maleria in battle.

When they reached their late teens Mirava and Koukon left their small town and moved to Centropolis where they hoped to be able to enter the world of professional arena battling. Taking on a part time job at a bakery to pay her rent in the mean time, Mirava befriended a female Arid Legeica by the name of Gen'ya. Delighted at having a close female friend, the two of them began to grow quite close.

Mirava introduced Gen'ya to Koukon and the two seemed to be friendly enough to each other. They usually never hung out outside of being with Mirava, a fact that never seemed to bother her or draw her attention, until slowly over time Mirava sensed that Gen'ya didn't seem herself whenever her childhood friend was around. When confronted with this fact, Gen'ya confessed that Koukon was starting to make her feel uncomfortable.

It was true, Mirava had noticed a change in him, but she had always attributed it to the stress of living in the city. However when she approached him on the subject in private, Koukon lost his temper with her in a way he never had before.

It was then that everything began to go downhill for the two friends. Koukon began avoid Mirava much of the time, and whenever they did hang out he would seem distant and more stoic than normal. He would usually find some excuse to go home early, and on nights when he didn't him and Mirava would get in

Koukon was becoming involved in the dark arts in the following of the evil goddess Maleria, that much was certain to her. Mirava tried to talk some sense into him on many occasions, but it was go no avail.

Then one day their friendship ended. Mirava had come to Koukon saying she had enough money saved up to make a pilgrimage to the Coda Caves on the moon Atebus, a trip they had been looking forward to all their lives. The faeries there had opened the caves to those seeking the powers of the Galactic, an event that rarely occurred. Koukon was supposed to have been working on this as well, but he confessed that he had stopped saving long ago and no longer had any desire to travel to see the faeries.

This was the last straw in a long line of disappointments coming from Koukon. Mirava lost her temper a little too quickly and the two friends had their biggest fight yet. Mirava unleashed everything that she had been keeping bottled up inside for the past few months as Koukon slowly slipped away from her. Koukon fought back with a string of defenses and tried to justify his actions, but to Mirava they were only lame excuses.

In the end Koukon was the first to regain his composure. With a deep breath and an icy stare the looks of which she had never seen on her childhood friends

Too upset to protest Mirava said that it was fine by her and stormed out. Later that night she phoned home and cried to her mother and sister well into the early hours of the morning. A few days later she quit the bakery, bid farewell to Gen'ya, and left for Atebus.

It was perhaps the recent painful events that made her the perfect candidate for the faeries in the Coda Caves. They were impressed by her skill to be certain, but even more so at the serious demeanor she had taken on to hide her broken heart. Of course the faeries didn't know this, or at least they seemed oblivious enough.

After only a year on Atebus Mirava was granted Galactic status. As she left the faeries gave her a somewhat cryptic message; Cast light upon the shadow that swallowed her past. Had they somehow known about Koukon the entire time?

After a brief trip back to her hometown to see her family Mirava returned to Centropolis. She was given back her job at the bakery and Gen'ya had never seemed so excited. The two of them had a good old-fashioned sleep over in which they gossiped well into the night; Gen'ya about all the drama with the bakery management and some Marsh Legeica she had dated briefly, and Mirava with all the details of her time on Atebus.

When Mirava confessed what the faeries had told her as she left, Gen'ya suddenly became uncomfortable in the highly visible way that she normally did. She confessed that she had seen Koukon around a few times after Mirava left, and that he had visibly changed for the worse. He had been dabbling in dark Nightmare magic, but had also become more active in the Battle arena.

Mirava realized then that she had to do something to save her former friend, even if it wouldn't repair the rip that had been torn between them. Within the next few days Mirava was back at the arena working hard to move up the ranks. She wondered what Koukon would say if and when they were to meet again.
