We were standing in the room that was on the top floor of the tallest building in the city. Pretty basic set up for our Master to reside in. Also, by we, I mean: Disunity, Qualta, Ensanguined, and I. She was moving around singing something about a teapot, Disunity was sitting in his chair looking incredibly pissed about something, and Qualta and I were waiting for him to talk by standing at attention before the desk. Finally I scratched the back of my head. Being kicked in the gut didn't hurt but the banging of my skull into the wall still felt a little fuzzy.
"
Why, on earth, did you let two mere horses escape? In fact, how was it that they were so easily able to get in my city, then out of it?" That clawed hand of his dug out ribbons in the woods of the desk. We both could see the wood peel back and curl. "
Didn't let anybody do anything! They--" when I looked at his face I just shut up, "
Um, nothing bad will happen by it. Not like they took anything they were just spying." I quickly looked down at my hands. Concentrating on them and hoping that aura of hatred would soon be appealed. I could hear him growl, a hoarse, nasty growl.
"
Qualta." "
Ah!" Qualta seemed to think he wouldn't get pegged to. Wasn't his fault, guy didn't show up until after they tore out of here. I felt myself perk up, I don't know why. I'd hate to see that guy get in trouble for my work. "
You and Qualta will go out and recruit more people. Your presence here is useless." That was a slap to the face. "
Who are we supposed to get? That green bastard has every body on his side!" I sucked in my breath. Me and my big mouth really need to learn some control. Disunity's voice was very soft this time, "
Go out of the city, capture a somewhat useful peasant, and bring them to me. I'll finish off the rest of the job. Whether they work for him or not, they won't be able to refuse me." I shivered with delight. This side of Disunity I really liked, so I smiled.
I left the room to go out onto the open roof. There I started to change into my hound form. Large wings broke out of my back, I could here my bones deliciously crack under the pressure of the transformation. Looking over at Qualta coming out a few minutes after me, held himself before changing into his wolf form, I told him, "
Good luck! I bet I'll catch more things then you!" A competition would be fun. I knew I'd win too, Qualta just wasn't aggressive enough. "
Heiltha I think we shouldn--" Before I heard the rest of what he said I leapt off the roof letting the wind catch the feathers of my wings.
I couldn't find a way out of the city. I kept getting lost with all the different streets. Damn place was like a giant maze. I never explored the place so everything was new. Qualta and I always guarded the inner city, where the biggest building and Disunity always were gonna be. Probably why the ponies got through.. I padded out from a particularity narrow alleyway, groaning a moaning because my fur was getting all dusty. Ahead I saw a light, which was weird because the city was almost always dark, or gloomy. The spring rains never seemed to leave us.
The closer I got to the neon glow the better I could see it. A big sign that read "Drink me" glowed in bright neon purple lighting. Someone start a business under our noses? That how the ponies knew how to get to us? I busted the door in with my foot, yeah I turned back into a human. Easier to deal with people for me. Saw in one hand I looked around snarling.
"
The hell is this?"
"
That depends, who the hell are you?"
That was the moment Heiltha met
