Appearance

In human form, he's very pale with fine, black hair that falls down alittle past his ears. His lavender eyes are deep set and look mostlysad or dreamy depending on the day. He has a thick gold earring on hisleft ear, given to him by Imogen. He's tall and lanky with the visiblemuscles of an emaciated boy. His canines are a little longer than usual, butnot long enough to scream vampire. His nose is prominent and a tadcrooked, yet not beaky. His hands are long and narrow and he'slearning the viola when he isn't downstairs in his perfume shop.

Personality

If Olivier could be 'himself,' he'd be extremely shy, socially awkwardand stuttering. If you catch him in his free time he is, but when he'sdoing business, he's charming almost to the point seductive. He has tofit in to stay alive, so this act, though desperate, is seamless. Heloves the scent of ylang ylang, lavender and jasmine, because they'reso cloyingly sweet, he could drown in them.

The Details

Olivier was born in Paris, France in the 1900s. He was told that hismother firmly believed in faerie tales and would do all she could toappease them, usually by leaving a bowl of fresh milk on thewindowsill. Despite her loyalty, the pixies stole her son away fromher. He vaguely remembers the haunting sound of the steam enginescoming from his open window at night, and the soothing voices of hiskidnappers. For some reason or another, they carried him over the seaand into a forest in New York.

He grew up in the Seelie court they had established there and wasraised by 'Imogen,' an icy faerie who would braid his hair withdaffodils and feed him silver apples cut with a golden knife. He agedfaster than the other changelings which made the court wary. However,they accepted him when he proved his worth. His talent with scents andperfume was incredible and soon, pixies and redcaps were sent to stealequipment for him to work; glass tubes and beakers and heavy stonepots. Things soon took a turn for the worst when a large glass beakerexploded, causing the disfigurement of Celine, one of the SeelieQueen's lovers. He was cast out and exiled as he slept, and foundhimself one hundred years in the future.

He managed by charming people for answers, money, food and lodgingwith his learned powers of glamour and his hypnotic perfumes. It tookhim a year to learn the ropes, but now he lives in a loft with Chide,a strange runaway who is unable to taste or smell.
