Once upon a time, there was a young Archan prowling through the empty fields near Veta Lake. He was lonely and close to starving, as he never had the courage or strength to hunt. He had no past, no recollection of who he was or where he had come from.
He felt wrong the way he was, a huge, dangerous Beast with the timid heart of a lamb. Bearing the pressure of being what he couldn't be, he was close to giving up when a small voice called out for him.
'Hi', it said, 'Why are you crying?'
'I'm not crying.' he denied, wiping his tears away with a heavy paw, trying to make it look as though he was only brushing his mane out of his face.
'Who are you, anyways?', he asked, trying to sound intimidating and angry, and blinking his wet eyes to see whom he was talking to.
'I'm Pfoetchen.' Came the prompt reply. There was a Demi sitting to his feet, small for her race and strangely surreal, like a drawing out of a child's sketchbook. She smiled. 'And who are you?'
'I'm Fonis', he replied. Trying to end the conversation right there was his first instinct of self protection.
'That's a nice name', said the Demi.
When Fonis didn't answer to that, she continued: 'Do you have a home? No? Why don't you come with me?'
She was bouncing around him by now, looking at him from all sides and sniffing at his face and ears. Fonis took a step back and considered her offer. 'I, well, if I may?'
'Sure!', she squealed in joy, 'I got lots of rooms in my place! And we'll get toys and minions and stuff and you'll be totally happy there!'
She bounced around in the high grass, hoping in circles around him as she led the way to her home. They had to walk a long way down towards Riverside Valley, and on the walk, Fonis began confessing his problems to his new friend, about how uncomfortable he felt in his massive body. She listened carefully, and even though she did not seem to be bothered, her carefree attitude cheered him up a great deal. By the time they arrived at her home, Pfoetchen offered him a beautifully crafted bottle of some bright pink liquid.
'Drink that.' She said, smiling, 'And then I'm sure your problems will all be gone by tomorrow.' She winked and left for her own room, leaving the quiet Archan to make himself at home in his new quarters. It was getting dark outside, the sun had set during their walk home, but the bottle he held in his massive paws shone like the morning sun.
He contemplated a moment; he had nothing to loose, so why not? Fonis had never believed in fairy tales or magic elixirs, but there was no harm in drinking it, either.
He downed the content of the bottle in one big gulp, shuddering as the warm liquid ran down his throat. He didn't feel much of a change right there, but the warm feeling remained in his chest as he curled up to sleep.
And when the sun rose to greet the new dawn, her golden rays fell onto smooth, bright pink fur instead of the thick green coat it used to find on him. Confused, Fonis got up, finding himself standing on slender, graceful legs. He felt lighter somehow, and maybe a bit smaller. His heavy, clawed paws had turned into rounded hooves, and there was not a single sharp tooth in his mouth.
Curious, he walked into the bathroom to take a look into the mirror. Where there had been a heavy green lion just the day before there now was a pink lamb, looking out of the mirror with wonder on his face.
This is the story as I, Fonis, will tell it to you. It is my story, and a true one, and it is the story of how the first pet moved into Pfoetchens huge manison. You might call it the start of many adventures, but for me it was the start of my true life.
And it got better. For even as a Sheeta, and despite of how wonderful and harmless and perfect my new body was, and despite of how right it felt to finally be what I was meant to, I still couldn't trust myself. Part of me still feared the Archan I once was, and another part of me was still ashamed of my weak character.
Pfoetchen had given me one of those My Little Hikey Toys as a welcome gift when she took me in, and ever since, I love and collect these. Play with them even, but for a long time, I used to hide them. I was scared of people finding out - they laughed as they saw me in the street, for as much as I love the bright pink of my coat, the wonderful colors of dawn, it is, apparently, a 'girly' color unsuited for a man. As is playing with tiny Hikey dolls.
I'm a man, and I love my coat and my dolls, both of which I chose for myself. But it hurts to be laughed at, and for a long time, I hid from the world, from it's people, and from everyone but the kind soul that had taken me in and let me be what and who I wanted to.
But then SHE arrived.
Geisslein.
She was gorgeous, she was beautiful, she was energetic and fun an her music could have called the gods right down to earth. I fell in love the moment my eyes first met her rainbow aura, and I was so scared she'd judge me I could barely say a word to her. Okay, I never talked to anyone else, either, but her I wanted to talk to and couldn't. She tried to make me, over and over, but I never dared say more than the most neccessary - I was scared she'd turn me away if she found out I played with My Little Hikey dolls.
Well, eventually she did find out, and she laughed, but not the way everyone else did. She said she thought I was cute.
And then she took one of the dolls and asked if she could play with me. Just like that.
Yes, we played together. And then she taught me to dance, and to sing, and to be proud of who I am, and how I am.
And she loves me just as much as I love her.
