Porter is the third son to the second head of the Aalvik Clan; a first rate mercenary family with shady dealings and an even shadier past. The family is steeped in traditions and is proud of their warrior bloodline. A bloodline, which keeps them so bound to their duties that only death can release them. The clan itself has served no one but the royal family for the past five generations and their loyalty has never once wavered.

There is a rumor that only males are ever born into the family, nonetheless all children born into the Aalvik Clan are educated from an early age in order to receive proper discipline.
