Strength Can Be Within Anyone

The sounds of wood hitting wood could be heard from down the mountain. Everyone in the city knew that the warrior training happened up there but only the best were allowed to enter the temple. The people have heard rumors about the newest student, a hippo with an extraordinary talent.

The thing they do not know about this new student is that he is a PLUSHIE

Moopoo was not always a warrior in training, he started out as most plushies do; with a family and someone to love him.

When Moopoo was new he was put on a shelf in the store with pride, the owner would smile up at him and he would know that he would find a home. As time went on though, he found himself sitting on that shelf more and more, getting dustier and pushed back as newer things came into the store. The shop owner eventually took him off the shelf and added him to a basket of other things that had been at the store for a while.

The basket was full of sad lonely things - a toy who was broken, some notebooks, and other misc items. Moopoo started to lose hope that he would ever find a home as the days wore on - that was until a rainy day changed his life forever.

Madrid was a small little girl; probably around 7 years old and small for her age. She was dirty, think, and her clothes, which had holes, didn’t fit - clearly she lived a hard life. She loved to spend time walking along the streets looking in the windows at the beautiful things. She would dream of a day when she would be able to afford them; she dreamed that one day she would have lots of money and have no problems. One day while the rain poured from the sky Madrid walked through the streets and stopped to look in the window where Moopoo sat in his basket. Her eyes were pulled from all the beautiful things to the basket of forgotten items. She felt a pull to the basket and for the first time ever - she entered a store.

The shop owner was behind the desk when this little dirty girl entered his shop. Most people would have been angry that she came in since she was clearly not able to purchase anything but this particular owner did not see the dirt - he saw a sad little girl who needed some kindness. He approached the girl and asked her what her name was - a small voice answered answered him. He asked her where her family was and she informed him that she had none, she had been living on her own since her mother died a few months ago. The old shop owner smiled at her and asked if she wanted to stay and join him for lunch. Her stomach chose that moment to growl and she nodded yes. As the two ate lunch the shop owner offered Madrid some work around the shop - she could help out in turn she could eat with the owner and sleep in the back room off the shop. Madrid was a good worker and kept quiet but she kept looking at that basket - as though something was pulling her towards it. One day she looked in it and saw the stuffed hippo covered with dust. In that moment both knew they had found something special.

She went to the store owner and asked if there was anything she could do around the store special to earn the Hippo.
