In a time where technology was bursting with new life, and general humanity grew lazier, there was a doctor of ecology who was bound and determined to leave his mark; or more like remove it in a way. Dr. Krystof Evanstrom wanted to create robots. Not just any robots that can pick things up, sweep the floor, or do the dishes. No, he wanted his robots to do much more.

Dr. Evanstrom created his own line of eco-friendly robots that were programmed to recycle trash, create compost out of wasted organic materials, and clean the air of chemicals. His company was Eco-Smart Robots, ESR for short, and his venture to changing the world one creation at a time had begun. Many of the first creations had very limited lifespans due to lack of funding for more expensive technology. However, his first prototype of his "busy-bee" robot proved to be a giant leap to success that could really jump start the company to help gain more funding. Unfortunately, his dream wasn't meant to be fulfilled.

In such a very peculiar way,Dr. Evanstrom died just two years into his endeavor from an accident in his own lab. Many questions as to what truly happened are left unanswered, since important details to how he supposedly fell into a melting vat of iron don't quite add up. Some fans of his works claim it was a government cover-up for murder, because his creations would solve too many problems that would put people out of work. Others claim it was one of his financial supporters who didn't trust the company would do well but his death would make the machines collectibles. The theories go on and on.

Needless to say, ESR crumbled without the doctor leading the way, and all operations to creating eco-smart robots stopped. Before the building was demolished and parted out for scraps, one of the creations escaped. Thanks to it's solar panel wings, the one and only "busy-bee" robot flew out of the soon-to-be-destroyed ESR compound. Upon entering the nearest city the robot started recycling scrap metals, glass, paper, and plastics; performing it's duties according to it's programming. It is known as Squik to everyone who recognizes it, because that's the sound it makes during the process of recycling; squik-squik-squiiiiiik-squik.

Years passed and Squik never changed, but the world around him was constantly evolving. Then came the day when a student of Dr. Evanstrom's studied his works and Squik. He later developed his own company and followed in his teacher's footsteps. He carefully mimicked the technology used to create the "busy-bee" and mass produced them. Now they are known as "self-sustaining recycling machines". Although many have been created to this day, there's still only one Squik, the first of the "busy-bee" (aka self-sustaining recycling machine) production.
