The Tale of Amy Dior

The woman ran her hand over the pink heart broach on her chest, musing if she'd find her item at this shop. She hoped so at least, since her legs still ached from exploring the jungle pyramid yesterday. And to think she STILL found moss in her hair underneath the cap. With a shrug, she walked inside and began to browse the empty shop, the owner beaming at seeing his favorite customer.

"Ah, Miss Dior! How are you today?" He asked happily, the woman taking off her worn flat beige cap and unleashing the brown locks of hair. Of course it was 'Miss', very few people actually knew, let alone used, her first name Amy. Miss Dior suited her well though, since she was known for collecting this shop's particular type of stock.

"The usual Matthew- just here for a memory." She replied casually, looking around the bamboo-walled interior, rows of wooden shelves and cabinets lining the interior.

"Ah, but of course! I have some more selections in the back- subtle, and not too overpowering." He gestured to the rear of the shop.

Amy shrugged, but kept a smile on her face as she meandered through the pungent wares. Stepping over a shattered vial with her sandle-clad feet, the woman ran her fingers through her small pink bobbled bracelet in thought. What would be best to remember her adventure by?

The back shelf held a large collection of vials, having all shapes, colors, and exotic packaging. Perfume shopping was a difficult affair by itself, but to tie it to a memory was particularly tricky. Her dull gray eyes flickered over the various containers, finally deciding on one.

Popping the cork, she wafted the scent to her nose, and immediately winced.
Oh dear. That wouldn't do at all. That was more suited to remembering how to wash a dog.

To add to her collection of hundreds of perfumes, the selection had to be perfect. Her long term memory wasn't the best, but when Amy smelled the selected perfume tied to her trips, the entire adventure came rushing back like a movie with crystal clear clarity. It was a brilliant little trick her had learned long ago. And now, to select the one for this escapade…

Uncorking another, she took another sniff- and grinned. Perfect.

"Matthew- this one is excellent! What is it called?"

"Aaaah. That is called the Kiss of the Sphinx. Imported of course. Did you by chance go traversing ancient ruins or something?" He asked with a wink.

She grinned, paying for the item with a single gold coin- and a second for the helpful shopkeeper.
"You could say that."
