"Hey, Kallen! What's wrong? You had the weirdest look on your face," asked Dora, a friend of Kallen's.

That is, assuming you could even call them friends. Dora was a nice enough girl, but all she ever wanted to talk about was how cute Prince Clovis was. And if she knew who the real Kallen was, she'd probably be scared of her. After all, Kallen is half Eleven.

Clovis is a prince of the mighty Britannian Empire. About seven years ago, Britannia declared war on the former Japan. Due to Britannia's superior weapons called Knightmare Frames, Japan lost after only a month. Not only did Japan lose the war, but she also lost her name. Britannia renamed Japan Area Eleven and called the people Elevens.

Prince Clovis was given command over Area Eleven. Naturally, Kallen hated him.

"Huh? Oh, nothing, I'm fine." Kallen replied as she snapped out of her trance.

She was wondering what to make of yesterday.

If that man hadn't led us, I would be dead right now. But I have no idea who he is, and I only have his voice to go on.

"Kallen! It's a bee, run!" yelled Dora. She was already far away by the time Kallen came out of her train of thought this time.

"It's only a bee," Kallen muttered as she rolled her eyes. But she got up anyway.

Damn Ohgi for forcing me to act like a feeble girl here!

The bee followed her. Assuming no one was looking, she quickly swat at it, killing it midair.

"Kallen is it?"

Kallen jumped.
Shit! Someone saw that.

She discreetly gripped her pencil bag, which had a concealed knife in it, just in case.

She looked at who spoke. It was Lelouch, some guy form her class. Suddenly, Kallen felt incredibly dazed, as if she just woke up.

"Oh, one more thing. Forget what happened at Shinjuko." Lelouch said as he was turning to go.

"What about Shinjuko? Just who are you?" Kallen asked him.

Shinjuko is where she was yesterday. She was fighting alongside her brother Naoto and the rest of the resistance. Britannia had the advantage. They suffered a few casualties, her brother among them. It wasn't long before Britannia had them all cornered.

That is, until some mysterious man intercepted their radio waves and led them to victory. It was miraculous. They were outnumbered and had inferior technology, but that didn't seem to matter. That man led them to a supply shipment of Britannian Knightmare Frames. Not long after he took command, the Britannian troops began to retreat--or so t hey thought.

Some had followed them back to their headquarters. They were heavily armed and planned to kill everyone there--resistance member and civilians alike. Then Prince Clovis made a surprising announcement. He ordered all of his men to stand down, and even to give medical attention to any wounded Eleven.

That type of move is out of character for Prince Clovis, so Kallen had no choice but to believe the mysterious man had something to do with it. He disappeared shortly before the resistance moved back to HQ.

"Huh? Nothing," Lelouch replied, looking confused. He started to walk off.

"Hey, Lulu! You better hurry up, Chem starts in a few minutes!" Shirley yelled as she was running by.

"Crap! It's my turn to set up the equipment. Got to go. Bye," Lelouch said as he ran off.

Kallen sighed.
Damn, he got away. Could he be that man? How could he be? He's Britannian. But his voice ... it sounded exactly like that man's.

Kallen resolved to talk to him at the next possible convenience. Luckily, there was such an opportunity later that day. She found him walking alone toward the main campus building. She quickly caught up with him.

"He Lelouch, we need to talk about earlier," she said as she finally caught up to him.

"I couldn't agree more. Let's talk in here, we should be left alone," he said as he held the door open for her.

But just after Lelouch entered right after her, she could hear voices coming from upstairs.

"What are you guys doing here?" Lelouch called out to them.

"I thought you knew! We're inducting Kallen into the student council. Isn't that why you brought her here?" answered Rivalz, an annoyingly hyper and upbeat high school first year.

Kallen glanced over at Lelouch, who didn't seem remotely surprised by that statement.

"Do I have a treat for you all!" exclaimed Milly as she carried in dishes of delicious-smelling food.

"Wow, Prez, this looks great!" said Rivalz.
"Now let's celebrate!" yelled Milly.
"I'm already ahead of you!" Rivalz said as he was attempting to open a bottle of champagne.

"But we're part of the student council! We shouldn't!" Shirley protested as she tried to snatch the bottle.

"Lelouch, catch!" Rivalz laughed and tossed the bottle to Lelouch. Shirley ran to Lelouch and tried to get it from him as he attempted to open it.

Suddenly the cork popped out and went straight for Kallen! She instinctively swatted it away, but then the champagne erupted out and soaked Kallen.

"Uh, I'll go try to find you some clean clothes." Lelouch finally said.

"And I'll lead you to the spare showers upstairs," Shirley added.

Damn Britannians.

Kallen sighed and followed Shirley. She was about done cleaning up when she heard a knock on the door.

"I have a set of clean clothes for you," said Lelouch.

Now would be a great time to talk to him. We're finally alone!

"Come on in, the curtain is drawn." she answered.

"Hey, could you hand me that pouch I left on the counter?" she added once Lelouch had entered. She saw him grab it and walk over toward the shower, all while trying to avert his eyes. As he was handing it to her, she grabbed his wrist.

"Now tell me what you know about Shinjuko!" she ordered.

But before he could answer, the phone rang.
"If I don't answer it, someone is going to come in here to get it."

"Fine," she snarled.

"Ashford Academy student council. How may I help you?" Lelouch said then paused for a moment. "It's for you." he said as he handed her the receiver, still trying to look away.

Kallen tentatively put the receiver to her ear.
"I heard I could find you here."

It's the voice! It's him!

She quickly glanced over at Lelouch. He was just standing there with his back facing her. It couldn't be him.

"Who is this? What do you want with me?"

"If you still want to fight, then I'll be in touch." the voice said and then hung up.

"Wait! Were you the one at Shinjuko?" she yelled.

"That a gamer friend of yours?" Lelouch suddenly asked.

"Huh? Oh, right. Yeah, I play a lot of games because I always seem to miss school due to my poor health," Kallen lied.

"That's why I mentioned Shinjuko. There are some guys who will try to show you pictures of what happened, and it's pretty damn grim."

"Uh, thanks for the heads up," Kallen said. After that phone call, she was completely confused. She really thought that Lelouch could have been that man.

"No problem. Wouldn't want to ruin the game now, would you?" Lelouch said with a smirk.
