Gale was Rorey's congratulatory gift for becoming a Prefect. His parents, along with the Ponds, travelled to Diagon Alley the day after he got his letter. He had wanted an owl for a very long time, forced to use Carole, the family owl, or a random Hogwarts owl. He and Adellea wandered through Eeylops Owl Emporium. Adellea was interesting in many of the owls, but Rorey was unbelievable picky. "What about this one? He's a nice, energetic one," Adellea would ask, only to get a skeptical look back. Finally, after passing by it at least five times, Rorey knew he had to have this owl. As his parents paid the bored shopkeeper, Rorey looked into the cage at the calm owl. "Hello. What should I name you..." Adellea popped next to him, overhearing his conversation, "Gale!" Rorey looked over and smiled at her. "Gale, it is."
