Yummy Gummy

"Don't eat all those gummies in one day, or you'll turn into one," his mom had warned him. Finley just giggled and chomped down on a gummy bear. He grabbed his bag of rainbow candy and skipped out to the backyard. She was kidding, of course, just didn't want him all hopped up on sugar. Finley's grandparents were always spoiling him with sweets. At supper he'd whine that he wasn't hungry. The trash can sat full to the brim with candy wrappers.

She had asked her parents to not buy him the candy. "Just spend time with him. Take him to the park or a museum." Yet again he had come bounding up the steps after a weekend away, with a bag of candy in his hand. So she made up the lie about the transformative power they held. She couldn't have possibly foreseen it happening.

Uh Oh, Now I'm Gummy, Too

Once upon a time, in a small town known for its strange occurrences, there lived a young boy named Finley who had an unusual fondness for gummy candies. Finley loved gummy candies more than anything else in the world. He spent all of his pocket money on different kinds of gummies. One day, a new candy shop opened in town. It was called "The Gummy Galaxy."

The shop was unlike any other, filled with shelves stacked high with every flavor and color of gummy imaginable. But what caught Finley's eye was a special jar labeled "Quantum Gummies." The jar promised an experience like no other. Finley bought the jar without a second thought. As soon as he got home, Finley opened the jar. The Quantum Gummies smelled like a mix of all his favorite fruits.

He ate one, then another, and soon he couldn't stop. They were so delicious. He felt a strange energy coursing through him. Suddenly, his skin began to tingle. He looked down and saw his hands turning blue. He tried to scream, but all that came out was a ribbit. Finley was turning into a gummy frog. His body morphed. His tongue grew long and looped at the end, his pupils disappeared, and his skin became orange and blue.

Terrified, he hopped around his room, knocking things over. His parents rushed in to see what was happening. They stared in shock at the gummy frog that used to be their son. They tried to catch him, but Finley, now a frog, was too quick. He hopped out the window and into the night.

Finley found himself in a nearby park. The world looked so different from down here. He saw bugs he had never noticed before, and the grass seemed like a jungle. He tried to speak, but only frog noises came out. He hopped to a nearby pond and saw his reflection. A green, gummy frog stared back. He was stuck like this.

Days turned into weeks, and Finley lived as a frog. He learned to catch flies and swim in the pond. He missed his family, but he couldn't communicate with them. One day, he saw the owner of "The Gummy Galaxy" walking through the park. Finley hopped towards him, hoping the shop owner could help. The shop owner smiled. "Ah, I see you enjoyed the Quantum Gummies," he said. "Don't worry, the effect is reversible. Just eat this." He handed Finley an antidote gummy. Finley ate it, and slowly, he began to change back. His skin turned normal, his legs shortened, and he was Finley again. He learned his lesson. Too much of even the most delicious candy can have strange consequences.
