Gherni is a navigator- she's a whiz with a compass and a master of maps. She's currently traveling around with her friend Tharkay, who hired her on to help him with the adventure he was hired on for--- which is helping Temeraire find his lost friend.
She and Temeraire get at each other a lot, pick and argue and prod at one another, but overall she enjoys his company. And as for Tharkay, she always adores him- he knows just what to say and when to diffuse any situation that might be escalating without need.
