Tharkay is a tinkerer and inventor. He's also brilliant at tracking people and fixing things. He doesn't have a home- just drifts around from place to place, wherever he is needed. He's never without his wrench, and often in goggles- either on his face or pushed up on his head and forgotten. Each pair of goggles has a batch of feathers hanging from the edges- usually reflecting wherever they were when he bought the goggles, sometimes they're his own feathers, though.
He was hired on by Temeraire to help him follow some clues and find a lost friend, so he had them grab up Gherni to navigate and off they went.
Tharkay is the creator of Conspiratory, who was stolen from him immediately after creation, though.
