notes about Bristol while I actually work on her:
A Maharen mage that manages to escape the camp she’s enslaved with along with others from her home village, taking Tetra with her. She’s heard rumors that Telamaine is alive and is thinking maybe if she can rescue him, she’ll be able to free her people.

Unfortunately she’s a poor planner and is basically immediately caught by James and Thatcher when she gets to Cydry. Luckily they realize they all have the same basic goals and team up together.

Bristol is a relatively good earth mage considering she received little formal training. Her parents were farmers which gave her ample room to practice her gifts and try to use them in different ways. James is attempting to teach her how to better use her magic, but she can be a bit stubborn when it comes to learning from him…

• Dark brown hair, generally worn pulled up, light hazel eyes.
• Dark skin with freckles. Her horns are almost a sparkly shade of gold.
• Extremely stubborn. A poor planner. She likes to think highly of herself but her ego often gets her (and subsequently, Tetra and the others) into trouble.
• She has a good heart, however, and unlike James, she is doing her best to channel her anger and pain from the past year into doing good for everyone, not just herself.
• James has absolutely little to no patience for her. He considers both her and Tetra a liability to his plans, however self-destructive they are. Thatcher’s quiet reasoning is the only thing that lets James give her a chance.
