Background: It was a night just like any other, cold and clear. Gimekus could see all the critters crawling around from reef to reef to get in bed. He too was tired, but wanted to stay awake and go up to the surface and gaze at the stars. They shined so brightly through the mist over the ocean. Gimekus lay a float on his back, 10'7" from head to tail, wondering if flying had the same feeling as swimming; feeling weightless. The waves seemed a bit tense that evening, as if something had spooked them. Then, what felt like rock, moved along his back. He growled and went under water to see what had disturbed him. It swam away so rapidly that he could not guess what it was. After a minute, it came back into view. The creature that was accelerating towards him looked as if it was a Hydrus Tutani, but none of those inhabited the area and weren't this big. As it got closer, Gimekus stood his ground and prepared to dodge. Then the thought hit him; the creature was a Sathuni. One of the most vicious hunters in the ocean at night. He had never encountered a Sathuni before, but as a young-ling hid in terror while one passed over the reef. That was years ago and caused nightmares. This was now his nightmare.

The Sathuni opened its jaw and showed two rows of teeth on the top and bottom. A screech was let out from the monster and it swerved at Gimekus. He put out his claws to grab the beast and keep space between them. The Sathuni repeatedly snapped at him trying to break free of the grip, thrashing its head around, swimming in circles and spinning; anything to get Gimekus off. Out of no where the Sathuni's tail smacks him and then charges from behind. Gimekus uses his tail and makes a blow to its head. The predator wails and becomes stunned for a moment. WIP
