Before the Sea Long before CrystalBones embarked on her quests for treasure and personal change, her days were filled with simple joys alongside a Cream Ontra pup she affectionately called Minion. They were truly the best of friends, constantly together – Crystal would spend hours carefully collecting beautiful seashells, while Minion loved to playfully splash and romp in the shallow waters of the river. Both of them, even then, would often gaze out at the horizon, quietly dreaming about all the amazing things that might lie just beyond what they could see. Their friendship was a beautiful and uncomplicated thing, strengthened by shared laughter, the scent of salt water carried on the breeze, and the joy of discovering little treasures and holding them close to their hearts. It was a time of carefree happiness and a deep connection that would stay with Crystal throughout her later adventures.

Crystal’s Remarkable Change As CrystalBones matured, a deep and undeniable yearning blossomed within her – a longing for riches beyond imagining. This desire ultimately drew her towards the perilous and legendary trials of Merana. What emerged from that daunting challenge was a being almost unrecognizable, a breathtaking spectacle of transformation. The gentle, soft-furred Kerubi she once was had vanished, replaced by a form composed of shimmering crystal, delicate and seemingly fragile. It was a blessing, undoubtedly, but one intertwined with a haunting curse – the mark of Hydrus, forever etched upon her very being. Though imbued with incredible power, Crystal was irrevocably altered. A consuming obsession now gripped her: the fathomless depths of the ocean and the untold wealth they guarded. Yet, this new strength came at a price. Every descent, every dive into the watery abyss, was now shadowed by the chilling awareness of the dangers lurking below, a haunting reminder of the trials she had endured and the price she had paid for her extraordinary transformation.

Minion Reforged It seemed as though fate itself had reached out to snatch Minion from the swirling embrace of the tides, a moment that sent a wave of despair through CrystalBones. But she refused to surrender. Driven by a desperate hope, they embarked on a perilous journey, their footsteps leading them to the bustling metropolis of Ziara City — a place where the air vibrated with the hum of innovation and the relentless power of steam. Within the grand halls of Full Steam Ahead, they presented a heartfelt plea. In exchange for a Steamwork Schematic of the Ontra species and a precious Yunium Key — rare and radiant, forged from ores and trinkets gathered across Subeta — they sought a miracle. The task fell to Isaac, the brilliant engineer of Ziara. For three agonizingly long days, the workshop doors remained sealed, the only sounds emanating from within a symphony of clicking gears, whirring pistons, and the hungry roar of furnaces. Then, at last, the hissing steam began to subside, revealing a breathtaking transformation. From the workshop emerged Minion, reborn as a Steamwork Ontra. Her body gleamed with bronze plating, her eyes glowed like crystalline lanterns, and yet her spirit remained the same. She was still bubbly, playful, and dramatic — carrying within her the memory of her Cream days, a living reminder of the bond that had never been broken.
