�KUMANI!� yells the Old Wizard, �Where are my slippers and glasses?� You hear a loud crash and glance around the wizard in time to see a white Kumos untangling herself from a pile of books on the marble floor. A huge bookshelf that completely covers the wall has half of the books missing and the Kumos�s replica wizard hat is falling off her head.
�Goodness, Old Wizard, you gave me a fright! I was just cleaning up the library before you came home but it looks like you�ve materialized before I could finish,� the Kumos straightens her hat. She is wearing a Mysterious Pendant around her neck and you wonder if that is how you can understand her.
�Your pink bunny slippers are almost finished in the dryer and your glasses are on top of your head,� Kumani says, while rolling her eyes at Luna, the Old Wizard�s Kumos. Luna grins in understanding and shakes her head.
�Oh, that�s right,� the Old Wizard waves his sturdy staff around in the air. �I knew that. I came home early to show this Subetan around Sacred Lands but you can show them the library while I get my slippers. Come along, Luna.� The Old Wizard�s bones creak as he shuffles out the door with his faithful companion.
As Kumani watches them leave she notices the Old Wizard�s glasses are still on top of his head.
�Old Wizard�you�forgot your�never mind,� the white Kumos sighs in resignation and then straightens, holding out her paw to you.
Greetings, Subetan, my name is Kumani as you�ve already heard. I am a Glacier Kumos staying at the Old Wizard�s mansion while training to be Luna�s apprentice. I just don�t know how she has the patience for what she does every day, or how I have the patience, either, for that matter!� Kumani turns around, climbs up the ladder rungs, and glances down at you.�Do you mind helping me get the books back in their proper places?� Kumani asks. You gladly hand her a book titled, �Signed Old Wizard Biography.� Kumani grabs it gently with her mouth and puts it back where it belongs.
�Luna tells me he wasn�t always so scatter-brained when he was younger," Kumani says. "She says they had great adventures traveling around Arctic Frost and Shadow Glen before residing here. He�s so old now he needs a vacation but on the weekends he has fun sending Subetans off on quests for weird things like beanbags and underwear. I have NO IDEA what that is all about but perhaps he�s trying to get the people to help him remember his past and plus it�s mostly harmless. The weekend quests help him to interact with other people instead of being glued to his books all the time and for their effort he awards them special wizard tokens. I try not to worry, since he�s hard of hearing, but I know he is safe under Luna�s watch.�
Kumani works fast with your help and as she puts the last book on the shelf, the Old Wizard pops back into the room. �KUMANI!� the Old Wizard yells, causing you to jump and Kumani to fall off the ladder again with books flying. Kumani lets out a long-suffering sigh. �Yes, Old Wizard?� she asks. �I�ve found my slippers and it is time for Luna, the Subetan, and I to go view Sacred Lands. Do clean up the library, won�t you?,� the Old Wizard says. �Yes, Old Wizard, will do!� Kumani murmurs, while tossing a book in your direction, as you follow the Old Wizard out the door. �For your efforts in helping me and for your patience with him,� Kumani winks. You peer down and see it is a copy of a Signed Old Wizard Biography.
