Wemberly is a food-loving, book-loving glade ontra. She likes to read, bead, glade, shade, bask, dusk, busk and think. Sometimes she likes to swim, but floating is higher on her list of priorities. She claims it's a philosophical thing: floating gives her a sense of mental freedom. Others, like her mother, just call her lazy, but you cannot deny that she has written some pretty intelligent novels. (Full list at the end of the description.) After such a long time floating and being one with the river, she suddenly turned glade, and it has brought her an even more philosophical outlook on life. She's planning a deep philosophical book along the lines of "Glade of the River and Forest". The title is tentative. Wemberly thrives in solitude, and it suits her well that her minion Wellington never speaks. They have developed a very complicated sign language, with signs for things like "fish" and "book". Since she turned to glade, she has invited many insectual (insect intellectual) friends. Together, they ponder on deep issues like religion, capitalism, gender politics, and fat acceptance. As you can tell, Wemberly's intellect is higher than most, but she's not always in the mood to share her discoveries. She also doesn't like sharing her food. Wemberly tends to gain weight from time to time, and is the founding member of Ontras with Bellies (OB). (If any ontras wish to join, the price is a 10-point wizard token.) She has been too vain to update her picture when weight-gaining though...Wemberly's tragedy is that she's no longer speaking to her mother, Warberta. Warberta, who is a Dawn Ontra, cannot accept most things about Wemberly - including her color, weight, enthusiasm in books, and her first novel, "Honor-Lily's Sexcapades", which was banned in six languages. (Thank god she hasn't read her latest tome "My Mother: The Sad but True Story"!) Warberta feels like a failure, because her daughter is so far from the values she holds dear (a low-carb diet of fish; cross-stitching; shining her silverware). Luckily she has six other children, three of which are Dawn Ontras just like their mother. Wemberly is on and off talking to her siblings, but likes to be alone most. Her favorite sibling is a Dusk Ontra sister named Heliseva, who knows how to be near her without making too much noise or demanding anything.
