Akilea's early life was spent trapped in a laboratory for brutal experiments. She never knew her parents, and she was never given a name, only a serial number which was tattooed on her leg. Being the brave, strong Wyllop that she is, she managed to escape the laboratory, and she is now trying to recover from the mental and physical issues that her captors left her with.

When she got out of the laboratory, Akilea didn't know where to go. She scurried around Subeta trying to find what food and shelter she could, until she came upon a beautiful place called Peka Glade. Akilea had never felt so calm and happy in her life - she could never have imagined the beautiful green grass, colourful plants, and friendly animal life that existed outside the dark cage she was raised in. In Peka Glade, she met a fellow Wyllop named Akiala, who spends his time taking care of all the creatures he can find. Akiala took her in, and helped her regain strength and become more comfortable around other creatures.

Wyllops are very social, loving creatures, and family is very important to them. Akiala decided to adopt Akilea as his sister, so she would know what it was like to have the support of a family. It is a tradition for Wyllop family members to have similar names, so Akilea chose her new name to sound like Akiala's. She is very proud of it.

While visiting Peka Glade one day, Akilea noticed that a beautiful, shimmering blue butterfly was fluttering close to her. The butterfly kept landing on her head, paws, ears, or even tail! It wouldn't leave her the whole day long. Akiala explained to her that butterflies seem to get very attached to Wyllops, and that he has many butterfly friends himself. But he had never seen a butterfly cling this much to a Wyllop. It even followed Akilea home! She named the butterfly Nami and they go everywhere together. When Akilea is sad or scared, Nami is always there to comfort her with the soft flapping of her wings. Akilea is often scared of bigger, stronger creatures, so a butterfly is the perfect companion for her. Perhaps Nami can relate to Akilea's rebirth?

Akilea is going to therapy at one of Subeta's best psychiatrists to help overcome her past, and her anxiety and depression are being managed with medicine. Now that she is not as afraid to talk to other pets, she has met many other companions. Each of them have helped her in their own way. Purrington loves to give her plushies to cuddle, and she often visits his home for the plushie therapy he offers. Wemberly is teaching her how to read, and encourages her to write about her feelings. They all give her delicious food, fun toys, and help her take care of the wounds and scars on her fur. Akilea knows that she will always struggle because of her past, but she sees a lot of hope because of her friends.
