"Mommy mommy, look! A kite!"

A small child at the beach points at the sky while his mother tries to put sunscreen on him. It's a hot day, and lots of people have flocked to the beach. And with people, comes food, and with food... Comes the birds!

The seagulls are the most common ones around the beach. Stealing food from humans. Close to the sidewalks comes the pigeons. They're more scavengers than thieves. But who am I? Oh, right right.

"Come here little birdie!"

I murmur softly as I slowly drift closer and closer to a gliding seagull, too busy eyeing some food on the ground to notice my approach. The beach is my favorite place to hunt.

The birds are used to the big kites adorning the sky, so they don't suspect a thing when I get close to them.

Just seeing that plumpy bird gets my stomach going...

I am so close now...

With a quick movement, I open my gaping mouth, swallowing the animal whole. I can feel it moving inside of me, desperately trying to scape. Unfortunately, even though I look paper thin and nimble, my body is sturdy. A mysterious mess made out of paper and rubber.

Soon the birdie stops all the moving around and I begin to slowly glide closer to the sidewalks, my eyes locked on a fat pigeon that pecks quietly in a discarted cheeseburger.

"Mommy mommy, did you see that!?"

A small child watches terrified as a big kite drifts alone towards the city, his mother shoves a big sun hat on his head and tells him to just build a sandcastle and stop looking at the sky.
