Vivika has a minion!

Heart the Ichbit Plushie

Vivika crept into the dark bedroom. She was well practiced at this point, what with the amount of times she had done this sort of thing. She had a friend in the Neutral Zone that had access to the schedules of all the Monsters for a price, and she knew that the Monster-in-the-Closet of this particular child had gotten the night off. The child and room would be unprotected all night, just as she liked.

She wouldn’t touch the child, oh no. All she wanted was one little souvenir, one little thing to prove that she’d been here. And really, children these days had so many toys, it’s not like one going missing would really be a big deal.

She noticed a toy box over in the corner, and quickly shuffled over to take a look inside. It creaked a little as she opened it, and she froze as the child rolled over in bed, hoping she hadn’t woken them. After a minute, she relaxed, and opened the toy chest.

Glancing over the contents, nothing caught her eye. There were just a few toys stuffed away, clearly nothing sentimental, which is what Vivika desperately wanted. She looked around the room again, and spotted some shapes under the bed. She buzzed over to check them out, and it was certainly a more promising haul. A few well-loved plush toys, some dolls, a few cars. She grabbed for one worn bear plushie, and cringed as it let out a loud squeak.

Luckily, it seemed like this child could sleep through anything, as they didn’t stir at the sound. She had a sudden feeling of pity for the Monster watching the room, as their job must be a bit of a challenge. Shoving the thought aside, she spotted her prize.

It was a bunny plush toy. And it was right under the arm of the young child, clutched to their chest.

Bother.

Vivika floated up, getting right next to the bedside. She reached for the toy. She got it in her hands and pulled on it. Ever so slowly she extricated the bunny.

She suddenly fell back as the toy came free. She held it to herself, watching to make sure the child didn't wake up. Instead, they let out a loud snore and flipped over, now facing away from her.

Vivika was ready to take her prize and leave, she really was. But instead she buzzed closer to the child. She lightly brushed their hair with her fingers and murmured to herself she took the child's soul and transferred it to the plush toy.

Oops, not again.

She really hadn't meant to, not this time.

But it was done now, so what else could she do. The plush blinked up at her.

She flew off, doll in hand, heading back to her home in Monster City. She left behind the soulless husk of a child, just as she had done so many times before that.

She flew into the Neutral Zone, where neither of the Monster factions had the power to condemn her crime. Her pile of plush toys awaited her.

“Mama? Mama, where am I?” Asked the bunny. She just patted its head and set it on top of the pile.
