The Storm Bringer

Zonra's life... did not start out easy. Once upon a time, she was a Common Keeto, who lived with her beloved human.

That was a very long time ago...

It might as well have been a previous life.

The last memories of the time she spent with the human who loved her sometimes haunted her in her dreams. It was storming that day. Zonra loved stormy days; she would always want to run outside to play in the puddles and scamper through the mud.
This day was different though. More severe. Her human wouldn't let her out for fear of her safety, but Zonra managed to get out anyways.

The last thing she remembered was a bright light, a burning sensation, and her human shouting, and then laying there in the road with her human sobbing over her.... and a wish.

Zonra couldn't remember what she wished for, but she figured it must have been granted because she was alive. Maybe not as the beloved pet Keeto she had once been, but instead as an elemental being - The Storm Bringer.

Zonra still loved stormy days, but now it was even better because she got to decide when and where the storms happened, and she could prance through them to her hearts content. Sometimes she brought light rains for peaceful but dreary days, and other days, like those when she and Tempest would get together and play, would be much more exciting.

Another one of Zonra's duties was to keep the people and pets of Subeta safe from the storms she brought them. She and her friend Tetsugi would team up during the severe storms and keep an eye out for anyone who needed to be brought to safety and then intervene when necessary. Tetsugi did most of the hard work during these times; something about watching other pets in danger during a storm made Zonra freeze. Not fear so much as.... worry? Concern? Anticipation?
She wasn't sure what name to give to that feeling, but she did know this: If she could have another wish, she'd wish that no pet owner ever cry the way her beloved human had in the moments before Zonra became the Storm Bringer.
