The bookkeeper of the Cosmos

I'm not sure how the universe happened. All I know is that there is a being who is said to be the initiator of all there is. Even I, the guardian of the cosmos, the one who sees everything, does not know if this being exists or where to find them if they do.

You might think the universe is complex, but really, it has only one rule 'Everything happens in a specific place at a specific time'

There are three forces who are said to watch over the universe so that this one rule is respected. The oldest entity in this universe looks after time, the second after space, and the third after matter. The entity who watches after matter is also said to be the reason being like you, masked creatures who once had an organic appearances but now roams space as dark energy, exists.

You might find out more about what you are by talking to the first of your kind. There are a few beings like you. Energy beings can do a lot, one of the masked being is even known as the destroyers of galaxies. They feed on galaxies, destroying everything on their way. Another found ways to manipulate matter in order to heal and repair.

If you are ever lost, one of the masked being is said to guide the lost souls of the cosmos. Another is said to be the key to life itself...

Of course, they are other dark matter beings, some feed on destructions. One of them hides in the dark corner of the Simeis nebula, waiting for ships to pass by so they can destroy them and feed on the dark energy that is released.

There's even an hypothetical being who seeks to know everything there is to know. They know a lot, but will only tell you for a prize. They want to know everything there is to know, and understand everything there is to understand about the universe.

Core Concepts

The previous universe - The previous universe is the universe that came directly before. This universe is impossible to fully understand for beings of the current universe. It is described as a more chaotic universe, where time and space did not exist. It is an universe where 'everything happened all at once in one singular space.' Genesis is the only being that comes from the previous universe. It is not possible to go to this universe has was completely destroyed when Genesis created the current universe.

The current universe - The current universe was created by Genesis. They created this universe simply by imagining it. The mere thought of space and time created those concepts and at the same time the current universe. The universe only has one main rule 'everything must happen at one single point in time and one single point in space'

The secret of the universe - The secret of the universe is simple: you can end it by imagining another one, by creating new core concepts, these concepts come into existence. How exactly does one do this is the true mystery. A lot of beings want to know the secret of the universe, of its creation and its ending. But Genesis, as the creator/God of the universe, is the only being that knows this secret.

The next universe - The next universe is an universe that is even more orderly than the current one. It isn't possible for beings of the current universe to understand this next universe, just as it isn't possible for us, beings living in a three dimensional world, to understand what living with a fourth dimension would be. The next universe is created by 'Pollack' at the end of everything. In an infinite amount of time in the future, when everything that could happen has happened.

Dimensions - The current universe is composed of an infinity of dimension. Each dimension is a different branching path. Taking a left turn instead or a right creates a new branch in the dimensional tree. Dimensions cannot be hopped or crossed. At the end of everything, it is said that all dimension become one: in a infinite universe everything that can happen will eventually happen in all dimension, making it merge as one in a single path.

The beings of this universe

Pollack

Pollack is a human who was sent to space as a test subject during the space race. Destined to die, he accepts his fate with regrets when he sees the beauty of the Earth from space. But life doesn't end there. Somehow, Pollack wakes up as a strange masked lizard creature, who might be the most important being in the whole universe...

Pollack is the core of the story. Metaphorically and literally.

Infini is the creator and God of the next universe. They are the convergence of all the Pollacks of all dimensions at the end of everything. At the end of it all, when Pollack destroys the universe, all versions of him combine into an infinite being: Infini. The are Pollack in everything but name.

Nihili is the empty shell of Pollack left behind in the old universe at the end of it all. Alone in a world of endless darkness and cold, doomed to roam a dead and empty universe, they are the eternal guardian of the last light of this universe. They are what's left of Pollack after fulfilling his destiny, the ultimate self-sacrifice.

God and Guardians

Genesis is the creator if the current universe. They are a passive god, that do not interact or interfere with the universe in any way. Their powers is infinite, and yet they don't use any of it. Genesis created three guardians to rule over the universe in their place: Quasar, Parallax and Supernova, three beings to rule over Time, Space and Matter

Quasar is the guardian of time. They are the oldest being in the universe, as before there was anything, there must be time.

Parallax is the guardian of space. They are the second oldest being in the universe, as once there was time, there had to be space before anything could happen.

Supernova is the guardian of matter. They are the third oldest being in the universe, once there was space and time, matter exploded in the big bang and things started happening. They are responsible for the creation of masked beings.

Dimensions is the guardian of dimensions. They show up whenever something or someone tries to hop dimensions. Hopping dimensions could break the universe, they make sure it doesn't happen. They are suspected to be from a different universal plane, possibly from the universe that will come after this one.

Masked beings

Perseid is the first masked being. Created by Supernova when the first sentient being died in space, they are a dark matter being with strange powers. Over time, they managed to find various ways to interact with the matter world. They are said to be the only masked being to have meet Supernova, and that they know why masked beings where created...

Ausar is known as the destroyer of galaxies. They were a powerful alien worshiped as a god by a human-like interplanetary civilization. On a quest to immortality, they strike a deal with Kosmos: they will become a masked being, as long as they completely destroy the planetary system they come from. They become addicted to consuming matter, and after destroying their people, nothing can satisfy their hunger...

Pismis is an ancient masked being. They come from one of the first truly advanced species who evolved into a true egalitarian society. They are a benevolent dragon who hides inside a nebula and use their matter manipulation abilities for the greater goods. Many civilizations have legends regarding the mysterious healing and other miracles that happen inside this nebula.

Dark matter beings

Cassini is a being who disguises himself as the ring of a planet in order to protect a giant Earth-like planet that's full of lifeforms. The planet is home to an unique mineral that makes faster than light travel possible, making it a prime target for those who seek power.

Preon seeks to know everything there is to know about the universe. They are the most knowledgeable being there are, and they go to great lengths to learn anything they don't know yet. Good and bad have no meaning when it comes to wisdom...

Void is the creator of black holes. They roam the cosmos making sure the cycle of life and death is respected. Born at the dawn of time, they are seen by many civilizations as the bringer of doom and the destroyer of light, the manifestation of death.

Kosmos is a strange being who can control space, time and matter in order to affect the future and the core of history itself. Whenever they use their power, they leave behind a golden trinket. They come from the dimension that comes after this one, after Pollack destroys the universe...
